My new go-to spot for late night Chinese food.
Saw these spots popping up around the GBA a couple of months ago. At first glance, I figured it was just another low-tier takeout-focused Chinese joint. But after catching one of their flyers, I decided to give it a shot.
The place seemed fairly new, and the cleanliness was definitely a step up from your average Chinese takeout spot. Their menu is a bit of a mash-up, featuring both Chinese dishes and sushi rolls, but I wasn’t quite ready to roll the dice on sushi from here. I stuck with the classics (Twice cooked pork, shumai, etc), and most things I tried were solid. Prices aren’t exactly a steal, but the portions are generous, and the staff have always been friendly.
Compared to the late-night spots in Chinatown that I used to go to, the real perk of Dumpling Garden is the hassle-free street parking. Sure, the ratings might not be high, but I would still recommend giving them a try.

Got a menu in my mailbox so decided to try out this new place. I ordered pickup pork fried rice, crispy chicken w chili pepper, mini juicy bun w pork, steamed shrimp dumplings, pork and leak dumplings, and through the first online order promotion got a free California maki roll. The crispy chicken and pork fried rice were the standouts. The crispy chicken was phenomenal! The pork fried rice was very good, not amazing. The California maki roll was surprisingly very good as well. I may order sushi next time. The juicy bun was amazing. And the dumplings were very solid, nothing bad or necessarily amazing about them. The place is very small with only a couple tables so probably not a place you want to dine in. Overall, highly recommend and I will order from here again.

May2024:
I prefer the Japanese cuisine from this place. I enjoyed the rolls, which were quite tasty. The fried rice looked appealing but lacked flavor. The General Gao’s chicken was overly sweet and missed the spicy kick that typically characterizes this dish. However, the red bean paste steamed buns were perfect, with delicious simple flavors.

I’d give the service 10 stars if I could, Lin is the best!
The food was delicious and juicy, the sauteed noodles were crispy and flavorful, and the filling in the xiaolong bao was sublime.
Special shout-out to the Chongqing style Crispy Chicken w Chili Pepper that Lin recommended, it was the best dry cooked chicken I’ve had (with peanuts!!)

Worst experience ever I bought two things of spring rolls and it cost me 21. 29 on Uber eats.. the fact that it’s $6 on their menu in store and $9 online is completely ridiculous I feel like it’s a sham and taking advantage of people who cannot go out I do not suggest this place ever when I I did receive the spring rolls they taste like cardboard dipped in water that was rancid it was completely disgusting I could not eat any of it I suggest no one to ever eat here ever again or anytime before that don’t even try it it’s not worth the money especially if you’re doing takeout on Uber eats do not waste your money on this it is not worth it.. and the amount I did eat I just threw up just immediately I horribly violently vomited after eating a spring spring rolls and I’ve eaten spring rolls a lot from other restaurants and this is the first time at this place… I don’t know what’s in it it’s disgusting violently threw up ..don’t eat here don’t even try it unless you want to get sick immediately after

This is the second time we’ve picked up food from Dumpling Garden. Service is really fast and prices are good. We really like the Shanghai noodles, dumplings and crab rangoons. The fried rice was very disappointing. I’m not sure the rice was even fried if we’re being honest.

Perfect late night dumplings. Shumai is to die for and everything is solidly delicious. Very friendly and quick turn around time for pick up.

The food is not only great but also the service is fantastic! Easily one of the best dumpling places on the whole state. Did I say that they open until 2:30 am on weekdays? This place is gonna smash it! Kudos to Lin for being a great hostess, had a great time here 🙂

Ordered takeout. The food was subpar. Service was slow. There are tons of better places around. Will not be returning.

Everything is so good! Had egg drop soup, pork shumai, shrimp dumplings, Shanghai style pan fried dumplings, scallion pancakes and Crab Rangoon. All of it was great. My favorites were the pork shumai and Shanghai style.
