Home made dumplings and home made noodles
Orders spicy beef noodles and Xiao long bao. They were both good. Loved the salt pepper pork chop. See the pics you don’t find this kind of pork chop anymore

Plastic drape door and eight tables of holy goodness these dumplings are delicious. This is a great place with clean food. I had tendon and noodles and it tasted like mom’s pork from 1977!

Incredible fresh handmade dumplings; I’m not normally a fan of lamb dumplings and these were delicious. Dumpling skin was the perfect thickness and balanced beautifully with the generous fillings. Fast service and reasonable prices. Recommend if in south San Francisco or as a stop after the airport! Plus they give complimentary sesame balls with red bean paste – nice touch!

We ordered a few dishes. My favorite is the hot and sour soup, sour, spicy, flavorful, lots of tofu, shiitake mushrooms, golden needle. Beef noodle soup seems to have mala spice, not my typical beef noodle soup, didn’t enjoy it much, though I liked the hand pull noodle texture! Soup dumplings skin a bit thick and pork was not as tasty. No shredded ginger which I thought it’s a must for soup dumplings?

Very simple little place tucked into a little side street off of Grand Ave. Decided to check it out after seeing good reviews—we got pan fried soup dumplings, beef pancake, garlic string beans and chicken chow mein. Owner surprised us with fried sesame balls filled with either a bean paste or black sesame seed paste—absolutely delicious. My favorite dish was the beef pancake—the Chinese black vinegar on the table was an amazing addition to its flavor! Everything was delicious and my leftovers were happily devoured at work the next day. Other reviews refer to this place as a hidden gem and they are absolutely correct. Will be ordering from here and dining in again soon.

Excellent dumpling restaurant discovered after shopping at Costco. It was only 2.3 miles away and we were hungry and tired of the ubiquitous hot dogs at Costco. The restaurant is just off grand Ave in South San Francisco and outside was four overflowing garbage cans which was not exactly a great endorsement of their atmosphere. But we persisted and ordered the beef noodles, Shanghai dumplings, pork dumplings with corn and the chive pancakes. They were all very good but the siu lung baos
were really outstanding as were the pork dumplings. The pancakes were a bit loose but had a lot of fillings which is good. Service was fine and even the cook brought out one of our dishes. Plates came out quickly and soon the place was filled! Yes, they serve food on plastic and paper which was kinda dumb but if you can ignore that, it’s a very good restaurant.

We happened upon the Empire while on a trip to SF. We love to dive the streets looking for places off the beaten path. This place was great, a little hole in the wall with wonderful food. Nothing elaborate but fresh dumplings, fresh cooked vegetables and hot tea. We dined in the first night and got a to go order the second. Very satisfying, tasty meals. I would take friends here to enjoy the experience. I’m not Asian so there was bit of a language barrier but to me that’s what makes the experience even better, not really knowing what’s going to show up on the plate.

Such a hidden gem. You know the food is going to be good when they serve you with take out boxes and lids.
Came here countless times last year. My default order are their lamb dumplings, pork and chive dumplings, pan fried soup dumplings, beef pancake, and their garlic string beans!!! Nearing the end of our meal, the table next to us was raving about how good the Grilled chicken fried rice was and ofc I couldn’t help to order it too. Honestly it was just okay. Nothing too special imo. But their house made (?) hot sauce on the other hand.. is very unique. Right when you sit down, you’ll see a bright orange container screaming at you. Highly recommend trying. It’s very different from the typical hot sauce you get from restaurants. This one has a different kick. Very pleasant taste and spice. Make sure to pair it with their black vinegar too.
Service is consistently pretty good. They’re attentive and efficient. They speak mainly mando and also English. Seating is limited. Maybe around 8 tables that can seat 4 each. Lunch time is usually the busiest time. Overall, highly recommend!!

Little hole in the wall. Food was delicious. Small family owned business vibe. I could see the woman making the dumplings from my table. And walked through the kitchen to use the restroom. Probably not the best customer service but you come here for the good food. So good I ate here twice during my stay in SF
