Googled soul food and Dulan’s popped up so I went to dine in. It was Sunday so I ordered the Sunday Dinner with fried catfish, greens & yams and it comes with dressing, 2 cornbread muffins, a dessert of your choice (I had sweet potato pie) and sweet tea ( which I don’t like, so I took the $1.50 up charge and got the strawberry lemonade which was good.
The yams were actually yams, not from a can and they were perfect, not overly candied. The greens were good and the dressing tasted like my late grandmother’s and it was a blessing! Same with the sweet potato pie, it was a wonderful nostalgic flavor. My only issue was the fish… It came plenty, but it was not fresh. I could tell it had been reheated, and it was disappointing, especially because everything else was so on point. I left feeling a little unfulfilled because I didn’t get the best batch of fish and this meal definitely had 5 star potential.
The meal was large portions and I like how they serve it already boxed up because there’s no way to eat it all in one sitting.
The host/server was good, I was seated quickly, they cleaned table and chairs as they saw it needed it and they were kind and courteous.
The atmosphere was good, nice music. It was cool to see the wall of celebrities who had dined at the establishment.
Overall I had a very enjoyable LA soul food experience and I would recommend stopping by. I do hope to make it back next time I’m in LA so I can upgrade the 4 stars to 5 stars with a nice order of freshly fried catfish!

If you don’t feel like cooking, and/or just have a yearning for a home cooked soul food meal. This is the place to go. It is a cozy restaurant that offers curbside ordering and pick-up as well as limited indoor seating. You will often see a line of people waiting outside for their orders. Parking is free on the tiny parking lot next door to the building. The prices were competitive and the food was flavorful. The portions were satifying. If you have left overs, they warm up tasty. The service was welcoming and attentive even when the food needed a little more tlc. This restaurant is located a short distance from the stadium on the corner of La Brea and Manchester. I had a tomatoes, corn and okra side with fried fish and collard greens.

Walked thru the door & the music was blasting. When asked if it could be turned down a little, the server told us no.
We’re eating at a restaurant, not visiting a club. There is no reason for the music to be so loud we can’t talk to & hear the people at our table. The food was good. Unfortunately, the fried chicken had good flavor, but it was dry. The fried fish, candied yams, Mac & cheese, greens were all good. I would have given the visit 5 stars if it weren’t for the loud music & dry chicken.

I order from here at least twice a week through DoorDash but that can get a bit expensive so I had my hubby stop by and pick up a Smothered Pork Chop meal with Collards and Yams! Now, it has always came with two pork chops; imagine my disappointment to only receive one with this meal. The food was tasty as usual but I definitely woulda appreciated my second pork chop instead of extra collards and yams!!

EDIT: Ordered the same meal via DoorDash very next day; sane time and everything and there’s a complete difference in price and quality of food….. WHY? Plate with foil ordered directly from restaurant. Plate in black container with chops on a bed of rice with 2 sides ordered via DoorDash!

The first time I came here. INCREDIBLE flavor. The fish was overdone, but it was seasoned to perfection. Yams had a subtle sweetness. Mac & cheese Was wonderful. I had to go a second time everything was well seasoned.
I don’t think rice and gravy should be considered aside, very bland.
Third time because I was craving it The worst it has ever been! Mac & cheese not a seasoned Cabbage doesn’t even feel like it’s cooked! I was hoping that the cooking would be consistent 🙁 It’s so disappointing when you’re spending $20 so you don’t get what you like. And I don’t wanna drive back, but This doesn’t make me wanna order again
I purchased it today, so perhaps they need to look into the cook the night before…

First time trying this place I wanted some soul food. I got the mac & cheese. The Mac and cheese seemed like they put nacho cheese it , no cheese pool at all bland in my collard greens have big stems in them no flavor no meat no seasoning. The red beans and rice was actually good nice and spicy different but good. My fish was soft and hard. I had the catfish with that was flaky, but some parts was fried harder than others. I was disappointed since I’ve seen four stars. Reviews which is crazy the prep cooks need help! The sweet potatoes were good and had to write amount of spice…

The savory food was absolutely incredibly delicious. I did a large catering order with them for about 200 people and the process was easy and the delivery was smooth. Everyone raved about how good the food was. The veggie sides especially were fantastic and oxtails and fried chicken so tasty too. Peach cobbler was beautiful but more of a pie with crust under and on top. It was too sweet and runny for my liking.
I cannot speak to the ambience of the actual restaurant as I did not dine in, oh me did the large delivery order. The food was very very good and they gladly accommodated our allergen an ingredient requests.

EVERYTHING WAS DELICIOUS! The meat fell off the Oxtails! Mac & Cheese was like grandmas! The food portions were plentiful and the waitresses were friendly.
