Duke’s was everything you’d look for in a great date night out. Attentive, kind, staff, nice atmosphere and most importantly the food did NOT disappoint. The short rib croquettes?… ( drool ) the rib eye special ? (Chefs kiss ) and the creole cream pasta ? (To die for ). We also got a bottle of wine. The Walnford (Cabernet Sauvignon) was local and so so smooth. We will definitely be back. The quality of the food was well worth the price and experience. And if you’re familiar with Haitian cuisine the tastes and seasonings ran through all the dishes. I couldn’t believe how Chef Duke blended the Haitian flavors into some traditional steakhouse recipes. Amazing and I highly recommend.

Duke Steakhouse — the ambiance alone set the tone ✨
Every single one of the three appetizers was a hit. The lamb chops were incredibly juicy and tender, and the Tomahawk steak was packed with flavor—perfectly cooked and mouthwatering. And let’s talk about the bread pudding… hands down one of the best I’ve ever had.
Overall experience? Absolutely immaculate. I’m a true steakhouse lover and have been to spots like Peter Luger, Prime 94, Ruth’s Chris, and more—and Duke Steakhouse confidently holds its own.
Loved it and highly recommend.

I was excited to try Duke’s Steakhouse today because it had a lot of unique inspired Haitian dishes. The restaurant was dimly lit and had a nice atmosphere. We started with Duke’s salad which is basically a really good Caesar salad. For entrees we had the Chilean sea bass which was OUTSTANDING and the creole cream pasta. The creole cream pasta was FANTASTIC! I loved the creole sauce and it had the right amount of heat. We also ordered a side of Mac and cheese which was very good! For dessert we had a chocolate peanut butter semifreddo. I couldn’t barely taste any peanut butter in the semifreddo. It wasn’t the type of dessert I’d order again. The bread pudding was good, but it needed a caramel sauce or something to make it sweeter. We really enjoyed Duke’s Steakhouse and look forward to coming again. I highly recommend Duke’s Steakhouse in Metuchen!

Surprise by Duke steakhouse it was definitely a 10 out of 10. I visited on Valentine’s Day weekend for the prefix menu and the food was delicious. The ambience was amazing and the best part it was BYOB.
The Seabass had a velvet texture and was bursting with flavor. The cream corn reminds me of a down home, southern dish and the truffle Mac is an 7 out of 10

We really enjoyed our evening at Duke’s! Ended up here on a whim looking for a new place to try and had an all around wonderful experience. The ambiance is absolutely beautiful and romantic, and the food was delicious and cooked to perfection. We had filet steaks which were lovely with a wonderful presentation. The highlight of this dish was the dipping sauce that came with it. We also really enjoyed the seasonal veggies and mashed potato sides. The staff were even so kind to decanter our wine – I’ve honestly never had this offered at a BYO, and it was such a nice, classy gesture. The chef, Duke, came up to us to introduce himself and check in with us. You can just sense the passion he has for this establishment and his food, it was really special. I definitely recommend trying it out. It was such a nice time and we will be back.

Duke sat us in a great corner spot for my girlfriend’s birthday and checked on us throughout. The food was amazing, 5/5 because the food made me forget everything else, the kitchen staff is on point. Service overall was good. The draft near the bathrooms in the back was noticeable since it was freezing outside.
For a newer place, the only area for improvement is that the waiter asked if we were ready to order without first introducing or presenting then menu to us.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Incredible Steakhouse in Metuchen!
Duke’s Steakhouse is an absolute winner. We started with the Mac & Cheese, Short Rib Croquettes and the Boulette, which were delicious. For dinner, the 16oz NY Strip was the highlight—perfectly seasoned and melted in my mouth.
Note: It’s BYOB, so bring your favorite bottle of wine! Highly recommend this spot for a great meal.
The chef even came out and held a conversation with us! Very nice guy.

All of the reviews I read were spot on. This restaurant is elegant, upscale vibes, intimate setting and top notch service all around.
To start we enjoyed the homemade sourdough bread with the house made compound butter. I could have eaten 3 servings of this with no problem, it was absolutely delicious!
For our appetizer we ordered the Crevette de Epis which was highly recommended by our awesome waitress, Natalie. This did NOT disappoint. The shrimp were large, cooked to perfection. The mashed potatoes were creamy and savory. The sauce had a nice little kick of heat to it. Needless to say, the plate left with not an ounce of food left on it.
Our dinner choices were Chilean Sea Bass and the Pork Chop Tomahawk which we accompanied by truffle Mac and Cheese w/ slab bacon and creamed corn. The Chilean Sea Bass was nice and flaky. I would say it needed a touch more seasoning but overall it was a very filling meal. The Pork Chop Tomahawk was a perfect 10/10! The sear on it was perfect and the seasoning was everything. The creamed corn and the truffle Mac and Cheese had you wanting more and more. It was almost impossible to put my fork down!
It was really nice and unexpected that the Owner/Chef came to our table multiple times to first introduce himself and also to check on the food. Hands down a great experience. We will absolutely be back!

Absolutely loved this place! The service was outstanding from start to finish, and the steak was flawless. We ordered the New York strip, octopus, and lamb lollipops — every dish was perfectly seasoned and incredibly delicious. The lamb was tender, and the smoky octopus with its sauce was so unique.
The steak was cooked exactly how I like it, and I have to mention the red chili peppers on top — I was obsessed! My boyfriend and I even finished an entire liter of red wine
Huge shout-out to our server Nathalia — her professionalism and menu knowledge truly impressed us.
Whether it’s a romantic date, a family or friends gathering, or if you’re simply a steak lover — this place is a must-try.
Can’t wait to come back❤️❤️❤️

Duke’s Steakhouse is a exclusive dining experience. From the door, the ambiance provides a dim lit exclusive atmosphere. My wife and I have been waiting for restaurant to open for some time, and it was so worth the wait. The food did not disappoint, the flavors are there! The menu consist of familiar items, prepared with a unique twist. The hostess and servers are friendly, welcoming and well informed. The chef recommended a wine pairing for our meal, and was sure to check in to confirm everything was to our liking. Plenty of photo opportunities for the ladies. The music is smooth enough to have you reciting lyrics in your head, but low enough that you can still have audible conversations. Head over to Duke’s for your next intimate occasion, business meeting, proposal or celebration of significance. This establishment is something to be indulged in and experienced. Would highly recommend and will absolutely be back. 10/10
