Go here for Great views, friendly service and delicious food. We got there before it opened and there were at least 20 people waiting… a good sign. The food and drinks were amazing and the flavors were perfectly paired and at the appropriate intensity. I had the steak & fries and my date had the mango bbq burger. Both were cooked perfectly and came out hot and fresh. Must visit again to try their Volcano frozen cocktail.

I loved this place especially the location it was by the beach side. We enjoyed the ocean view with the splashing waves with the awesome food. The macaroni was very delicious and the drinks were great. The fish tacos were really nice. The service was amazing and we would highly recommend this place as they have a pretty good menu options.

Service and view were phenomenal. Very friendly and accommodating. Wonderful overall experience. We rated the food 4/5 because we felt the sauce on the steak was too mild but the steak was great. Wish there were more asparagus stalks with it. Fish and chips were good but have had tastier fries. Pie was yummy – but tasted like typical ice cream pie (tasted more like vanilla ice cream than macadamia nut). Hummus plate was very good. Parking is valet ($12 on day we went), but there is also free street parking.

Best calamari in California, in my opinion. Highly recommend it as an appetizer. Unlike the outdoor seating at other restaurants, this one implemented social distancing (in 2020), had no flies or anything, and an amazing view of the coast of Malibu.

How am I at California native and have never been here before?! So many people have told me to check this place out. Did you know they do weddings here too? I made reservations for my anniversary. It is highly suggested you make a reservation which is easy to do online because it tends to get very busy.

Dukes is not only popular because of their food but their prime location right in front of the ocean. We were seated by the window and I loved looking out at the waves and hanging out with the seagull named Franklin.

Our server was Sophia and she was super sweet and helpful and told me some of their top selling drinks and food items. She said their most popular drink was their Dukes Mai Tai. Delicious and very strong. I don’t normally drink alcohol so it took me awhile to finish it. I can see why people like it. It’s topped with a piece of pineapple which makes a fun addition.

For my meal I got the coconut shrimp which comes with their house made macaroni salad. It was amazing. They have a limited menu when it comes to food so if you like a place with a ton of options, then this might not be the place for you.

Valet parking was $8 when I went during lunch time.

It was just okay.

Honestly, the best part of our visit was having Jake as our server; great energy, doesn’t hate his job, spent the time to talk to us about the menu and didn’t leave us hanging during our stay.

Otherwise, food was lackluster and for what we got, the bill was a product of the rent which is expected of an ocean front restaurant in Malibu. We got the best seats in the house so that made up for it a little bit along with the great service we got.

Although the chef is going in the direction of “deeply delicious” with the cook and flavors of the Sticky Ribs, on our pallet the salt was too high; slightly off balance. The mayo on the Poke Tacos really degraded the freshness of the fish and all around wasn’t an ingredient fit for the dish…dairy and fish are a pesky pair. The biggest letdown for sure was learning that the chicken wings had been taken off the menu which was the driving factor for coming in in the 1st place.

Dukes isn’t bad nor great but out of most ocean front restaurants in Malibu, it does the trick. Aloha .

Great place if you want a drink and a bite to eat. Service is pretty slow and our waiter was easily distracted. Food was great and atmosphere as always was on point. Been going here since 2001! Not a whole lot has changed. Suggest going to the u shaped bar in the back and getting your seat at the window so you can watch the ocean. Often you can see dolphins/whales swimming by.

Really beautiful view, especially if you sit by the window. Atmosphere rating would be higher if it was a little busier. Our waitress was fantastic and the food was ok. The espresso martini was pretty standard and the appetizer was delicious. My Parmesan crusted halibut special was wonderful with the lemon butter sauce though they should serve it with more sauce on the side. The fish wrapped in banana leaves was ok. The flavors were good but the shrimp was completely overcooked to the point that it was rubbery. Come for the view and drinks as it is fun to sit and watch the people on paddle boards and birds.

Sit on the patio if you can. Small space but worth it. Super friendly staff and great views. The hummus app was so good, as were the wontons. Burger needed some simple seasoning, wasn’t super special. Tasty cocktails.

My wife and I decided to take a day off of work and go to the beach so we took full advantage of the opportunity and away we go. We went to the beach for a few hours and then we planned on coming to Dukes in Malibu for lunch date and the view of the ocean which was so beautiful. I got the prime sirloin steak and fries with a side salad and it was really delicious. The server was really nice and accommodating. As you could see in the pictures, there’s plenty of seating inside the restaurant and they have an attached party space for large groups of people who wanna rent out the space. The ambience at Dukes is very chill and relaxing with a view of the ocean. I mean how can it get better than that? There is no street parking as far as I can tell and only a valet parking lot in front of the restaurant that was the only downside of Dukes. I would definitely recommend Dukes for anybody who’s in Malibu and wants to have a good lunch or dinner with the view of the ocean. Amen and yes please.
