We waited nearly an hour and a half.
After being seated, no one came to the table for an extended period. Shawna never followed up after giving us the original wait time. I had to locate her a second time because we still had not been served. I explained that we had already waited well over an hour and had players who needed to eat and return to the fields. Her response was that they were busy and understaffed. When I suggested management step in to support the team, she told me we were free to take our business elsewhere.
That response reflects a leadership issue, not a staffing issue.
Our server, Axia, was excellent. She stepped in, took control of the table, and handled a difficult situation with professionalism and composure. We tipped her accordingly. The breakdown was not at the server level. It was operational.
Food was delivered at inconsistent times, and overall pacing felt disorganized.
Duke’s is located near Ellis-Methvin Park, which regularly hosts large tournaments. These events are scheduled and predictable. Staffing and floor management should reflect that reality.
If you are looking for a dependable, well-managed post-game meal during a tournament weekend, this was not that experience.
Given the reputation of your restaurant as a family-friendly venue , I found this extremely disappointing and would never feel comfortable bringing my children to an environment like this . I hope that management will review the dress code policy and take steps to ensure that aligns with the family-friendly image of your restaurant . Thank you for your attention to this matter, I hope to see improvement in the future.
The band Exit 55+ was awesome, they’ll be the only reason why we return. Definitely eating elsewhere before we go though.
Our server, Nicole, was very friendly, she took great care of us. Everything tasted great, the beers were ice cold.
The live entertainment was fantastic, Friday only, be sure to check it out!
