Food that they actually had on the buffet was good but, if the owners don’t change the attitude of the employees they won’t be open much longer. At 6 pm on a Saturday hardly anybody there and all you could hear were the employees trying to shutdown. This should be a busy time. Been there several times in the past year at night and always hear the same attitude. May be why hardly anyone was there. Turned the open light off at 630 and dont close until 8.

This was my first time trying Duke’s. I had high hopes that it was going to be really good. I was pretty disappointed. I only saw one kind of BBQ sauce offered. The pork was good though. Someone put a ton of salt in the coleslaw. Yuck! The green beans tasted like they were straight from the can. The sweet tea is extremely sweet. There was no menu. Just the buffet. The banana pudding was good. The pistachio “pudding” was very sweet. It has marshmallow fluff added to it.
This was just my experience and taste buds. Maybe others would like it?

Oh yeah & Scottie is very passionate about his BBQ. Very 1st visit to Duke’s Bamburg, but it won’t be my last. Tried lots of the other Duke’s BBQ & this 1 is worth the trip.

Really enjoyed Dukes BBQ of Bamberg. Very clean, friendly staff and super food. Nice place to meet up with friends and family. We drove from Lexington SC to try this restaurant. They have free WiFi and tvs to watch the games too. Drive through and carry out a plus.

I hope this place is exactly the same every time we go back! Food was so good, price was amazing, and not too busy. Even so, they still kept the fresh food coming out to the buffet.

I called and asked if I ordered gizzards and livers would they be taken off the buffet or fried fresh. I was told if it was a small order they would take them off the buffet because they wouldn’t open a new pack just to fry a few, which is understandable, but for a bigger order they would fry them fresh. He told me they had 3 sizes (4,8, and 16oz). I asked if I ordered the 16 oz each would they be fried fresh. He said they would because they wouldn’t want to run out on the buffet and because the ones on the buffet looked as if they had been sitting since the start of that shift. I said OK and asked would they go ahead and drop my order to be fried because my husband would be there in 10 mins to pick it up. He said no problem. When my husband got there, he mentioned the conversation and the person was clueless (he could’ve spoken to someone else) but assured him they were fried fresh because they had run out on the buffet. The gizzards were no problem, but I could tell the livers had been refried instead of fresh. You could tell they had been sitting then dropped back in grease. They tasted old and were extremely hard and dark in spots. Very unprofessional. I would have rather ones taken off the buffet vs him telling me they were fresh and them being refried.

Had to get some Dukes hash to take back to my husband in Texas, was happy to find the location in Bamberg wasn’t full of hungry diners! The cashier was sweet, which is why maybe I got sweet tea instead of the unsweet I ordered. But hey, I got my hash, so I just drank my sweet tea like a local and headed west.

Went there couple weeks ago for first time.
Had to be 90 degrees and no air conditioning.
Place was dirty including bathrooms.
Food was not fresh . Okra was hard as a rock and can tell they used old oil.
Desserts that should have been kept cold were mushed and warm.
I cannot understand any of the good reviews !
