Good food, we both had the ribs and smoked chicken special. The ribs were acceptable, good flavor but slightly on the dryer side. The chicken however, was wonderful. Very flavorful skin, beautifully presented and super moist interior. Simply superb. Side items were good with real mashed potatoes and acceptable mac and cheese. My wife had the baked beans which she enjoyed and they were flavored with a significant amount of pulled pork. Both of our desserts, (Italian cream cake and a chocolate bundt cake with a ganache) were excellent.
The servers were very nice.
Truly however, the star of the show was the beautiful facility and million dollar view. Overlooking the Ohio river right across from Monkey’s Eyebrow Kentucky this setting is stunning. Hotel rooms, cabins, a B & B housed in some grain silos (under construction) as well as an RV park and a winery are available. Boaters can tie off and walk up easily directly from the river, no car transportation needed. Large deck overlooking some of the most lovely scenery that Southern Illinois has to offer. Make the drive, you’ll be glad you did. $50 bucks for two (without tip) drinks and desserts included.

Large parking lot with handicap accessible entrance. Large indoor dining area and screened seating area for outdoor dining. Place your order at the counter and walk to the drink area and fill your drink cup. Then they’ll call your name to pick up your order. Our food was very good. Runs a little overdone. We waited 30 minutes for our order on Saturday evening. The indoor dining has a river view and outdoor allows viewing the river, bald eagles, hawks and various wildlife. I recommend this restaurant.

Ate on a late Sunday afternoon. Not busy at all. Staff was friendly. Food options were okay, but very delicious. Atmosphere was fine. Too cool for a meal on the screened in or open deck. Would definitely like to be back and enjoy a meal outside overlooking the river. Definitely go and support this place.

Great view and delicious BBQ. We stopped by after hiking in the Cashe River area and it was a really relaxing visit. The screened in porch was very comfortable and the staff were very friendly.

While doing Americas Great Loop we discovered this fabulous new restaurant at mile marker 958.4 on the Ohio River just above the Olmstead Lock and dam. We anchored a little down river from the restaurant, but took our tenders to their riverside dock. This is a MUST STOP if you love great barbecue and ribs. The owners even said we boaters could anchor below their dock.

Visited here for the first time on October 4th (along with the Grand Chain Winery on the same property) and we were very impressed!! Super nice, caring staff members. Beautiful location and well-thought-out design of the restaurant and grounds. LOVED the SCREENED-IN deck for dining, overlooking the beautiful Ohio River valley. The food was great! We would definitely visit again and the entire property is definitely worth the scenic drive!

Due South Restaurant is a nice place to eat with a beautiful view of the Ohio River, overlooking Kentucky. There will be a bar inside soon. They are still remodeling but they are open for operation when we visited 07/12/2024. The pulled pork was delicious. Seating was nice and they will soon have seating out on a patio with a nice view of the river. Everything was very clean and the atmosphere was nice. The price was about $10-$15 per person for a meal. Options for racks of ribs for $15 – $20. There are camp sites for $30 per night, rooms for $100 and cabins for $150 per night. The campground outside looks well kept. We will definitely be visiting this location again soon. It has a lot of potential.

Wow! What a great find! This was our second visit to the Lodge, and first to the restaurant. Great deck right on the Ohio river where we saw many birds, including Bald Eagles. Super peaceful. The restaurant is good! And the service is excellent. We stayed in the lodge and the room, while not fancy, was spotless and very well kept! GREAT place to spend the night and enjoy the deck and views of the Ohio river.

Brought the family in the afternoon. Pulled pork as great. Potato salad was delicious. We loved the BBQ sauce. We sat on the back patio which had a nice view of the river. Fair prices and good customer service. We’ll definitely be back.

This place has so much potential in eatery and catering. I don’t think a winery is a great place for BQ, given the fact of competition in the local area.

Need a GM and event coordinator to give you a major push in the right direction in the food service industry. This place is capable of becoming a power house. Currently, the food is subpar. Burgers, Chicken Strips, and Ribs.

Reach out if you would like to speak about turning this restaurant into a local and tourist spot.
