This is the perfect pit stop on the way in or out of Julian. The sandwiches are near perfection, and the pastries are perfection. The club was our favorite sandwich. It had the perfect ratio of ingredients and was classically delicious, but the pastries blew us away. The danishes should be a requirement to try. The staff isn’t the warmest, but it’s understandable with how busy this place gets.

Great stop on the way into Julian. Indoor and outdoor seating options. Cute trinket/kitchen shop inside. Lots of pastries and baked goods to choose from but I wish they had the option to warm it up. The cinnamon roll was good but not the best I’ve ever had. Also tried the Nutella brioche roll and it was a messy but chocolatey experience. Yum! Arrived around 10am on a Saturday and the bakery was pretty busy with about a 7-10 person line at the ordering counter. Wish we could have tried more baked goods but we didn’t have room. Maybe next time! Parking lot is spacious with many spots.

Love the sandwiches! Stopped here already two times on the way to Borrego.
Food is spot on. Portions are huge.
Staff is very busy – lot of people are coming. My order was taken wrong but the staff was nice enough to correct it. Thankfully!
Food was great. Drinks are also great. They have specially drinks – too sweet. But would not complain about it: they are delicious.

A definite stop EVERY time I travel through the mountains near San Diego. Been going here since I was a young child. Absolutely unique and delicious breads and pastries. I finally tried the sandwiches last time I went and was not disappointed. If you’ve never been you need to make time to go.

Stopped here in the way back from the desert. Its like an upscale coffee house with a cozy country feel. They make their own bread which smells delicious they bake pies and pastries that vwill make your mouth water from the display case. You order at the counter from a selection of breakfast items, sakads, wraps and sandwiches. I had the recommended, Baja turkey sandwich. It was warm and filled with lots of yummy fillings. I took half of it home. But made a point to get some bakery items. A very crispy bear claw ( heard another customer rave about it) and a giant chocolate chip cookie. My friend had the Italian sandwich, she said it was ok. They also have a wide selection of coffee and teas. Good place to stop!

This bakery has an impressive variety—cakes, cookies, breads, muffins, and pies galore. While everything looked amazing, the taste was just okay. That said, the environment is cool and welcoming, with very clean bathrooms and enough parking to make it an easy stop. When I went, the line was long but moved surprisingly fast thanks to efficient service. It’s a solid place to stop by if you’re leaving Julian and want to grab a few treats for the road.

Very cute coffee shop on our trip to Anza borrego and glad we stopped by. Honestly we actually stopped by just use a restroom but this was a really good find.
Lovely aesthetic on the inside and quite a nice selection of items for purchase as well. The variety of breads they have was unbelievable! Put the bread lover in me really wanted to go all out.
The pastry selection was also really lovely.
Husband and I got the Pistachio Stuffed Flaky Brioche and it was really delicious even a few hours later. The pistachio cream was smooth and not too sweet either and when really well with the croissant.
Sister-In-Law got the Nutella flaky brioche and that definitely did have quite a lot of Nutella inside! Definitely value for money.
Friends also got one of the savory pastries and they said the flavor was really nice but it wasn’t really crispy.

I love it in here! I grab lunch and a pastry or coffee here every week and it’s always good. I love the Bajapoltle sandwich and have been recently enjoying the avocado toast. The bread it comes on is so so good.
Their croissants and a delight and they have good espresso! The staff is always so sweet and helpful, even when they’re swamped.

We have been coming to this bakery for many years. We have typically bought sandwiches on the way to the desert. They are very flavorful, meat filled, and never disappoint. I would recommend getting a classic Italian.
This time we grabbed raisin cinnamon bread and a Dutch apple pie. Both were very good. The breads come all pre cut and you must order the day before to get an uncut loaf. We make sure to call in next time for sure. The staff was good about explaining this.
