I was looking for something different for our anniversary, and my husband was happy that I chose this place. We had Peking duck, shrimp fried rice, and brown sugar boba tea. The duck had a mind-blowing taste. The fried rice was full of flavor and perfectly cooked… highly recommend it.

This place was delicious! Some of the best Peking Duck and soup dumplings ever! The roasted duck was juicy, crispy, and flavored well. Highly recommend ordering party-style and eating with a group. Service was excellent as well, helping us with our friend’s birthday cake and accommodating the table! Will definitely come back and try more items!

Everyone here is super warm and friendly — such a welcoming dining atmosphere! I came today especially for the new black truffle xiao long bao and it was AMAZING. The broth inside is so rich and flavorful, and the truffle aroma is incredible.

The pan-fried pork soup buns and stir-fried green beans are as delicious as always. We also tried the pork & scallion dumplings and the shrimp, pork & chive dumplings — both were really tasty ✨

Highly recommend! Will definitely come back again!

Duck & Dumpling is one of those places that reminds you why simple well executed food always wins. From the moment we walked in the place was buzzing with energy yet the wait was short and absolutely worth it. The staff was friendly efficient and clearly used to a full house.

We started with the cheese puff rangoons which were crisp light and perfectly balanced. Not greasy just satisfying. The steamed bao buns deserve a special mention. They were incredibly fluffy with a soft pillowy texture and the pork filling was outstanding rich savory and comforting in the best way.

The spicy chicken combination fried rice was packed with flavor and generous with ingredients. Every bite had texture heat and depth without going overboard. The steamed soup dumplings were a standout with delicate wrappers and a rich flavorful broth. The dumplings themselves were equally solid tender well seasoned and comforting. The green beans were glossy garlicky and addictive in that classic way where you keep reaching for one more.

We did not order the duck this time but every table around us seemed to have it and it looked incredible which already sealed our plan to come back and try it next time.

Every dish delivered and nothing felt like filler. Duck & Dumpling is doing the basics right and doing them consistently well. This is an easy return spot and one I would happily recommend without hesitation.

We LOVE this place!!! I’ve never been so happy to see a Taco Cabana shut down before.

We used to live near Flushing, Queens and had tasty soup dumplings and Szechuan food right there whenever we wanted them. We’ve been missing this and are SO SO SO happy that Duck & Dumpling is here!

The xiao long bao are so flavorful and delicious. The best we have had outside of Queens.

Spicy and crispy chicken is crunchy on the outside but the meat is so tender. It is a huge portion for $19.99. We always get a couple of meals out of it.

Chow Mein noodles are excellent! But by far my personal favorite on the menu are the Spicy and Sour Dumplings. It’s like 10 or 12 handmade dumplings in a spicy, tangy broth and I craaaaave this dish.

Coke for the duck (it is spectacular but I’m only occasionally craving duck) and stay for everything else!

Also….don’t skip the passion fruit cucumbers. So crunchy and refreshing.

If you like Peking Duck or dumplings of any type, do yourself a favor and treat yourself to the Duck & Dumpling today. This was the wife and I’s first time here (our daughter had been asking us to go back since she went with friends a while ago) and all I can say is that we will be back! Since this was our first time, we wanted to try a real variety as you can see from the pictures. All of the dumplings were home made and had great texture/flavor. The Peking Duck was really good and came with extra crispy skin, a really nice touch! I am happy to say not only was all the food great, but the leftovers are really tasty too. If you are going to go, go early or be prepared to wait. There’s a reason you see so many people waiting – it’s worth it!

We tried the following:
Whole Peking Duck (one of our absolute favorite dishes) – very good and it came with extra crispy skin, a very nice touch. I would highly recommend the Peking Duck, hands down the best we have had in San Antonio
Duck broth soup (comes with the duck) – the soup had great flavor and was very comforting. The only complaint we had was the temperature, the soup came out barely room temperature. It will be even better when reheated at home.
Pork Xiao Long Bao – very good soup dumplings, loved them!
Stir Fried Green Beans – my daughter’s favorite and the whole reason she wanted to go back. You should try them!
Pan Fried Thumb Bun Shrimp & Pork & Chive – very good
Colorful Dumpling – interesting mix of dumplings that allows you to try several different fillings. The pork & shrimp dumpling was our favorite. The bok choy and mushroom dumpling was the only thing we tried that we didn’t like (great thing about getting a sampler, you get to try the variety).
Curry Chicken & Potato Pot Stickers – my favorite pot stickers there. The flavor was great and it was nice to have a deviation from the standard pork or chicken pot stickers.
Pork & Scallion Spicy and Sour Dumplings – very good, a nice sour broth.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Duck & Dumpling – Grand Opening Visit

We stopped by Duck & Dumpling for their grand opening, and it was such a great experience! We ordered a little bit of everything: the full duck with duck soup, spicy and crispy chicken, passion fruit cucumbers, wood ear mushrooms, shrimp–pork–chive boiled dumplings, and the eggplant & minced pork dry noodles.

The full duck was flavorful and tender, and the duck soup that came with it was rich and comforting. It came with two half duck trays. The spicy and crispy chicken had the perfect crunch, and the passion fruit cucumbers were refreshing and unique. The dumplings were delicious and well-seasoned, and the dry noodles with eggplant and minced pork were a standout: savory, satisfying, and full of texture.

One thing we especially appreciated was how quickly the food arrived. The restaurant wasn’t too busy and everything came out fast and fresh! We did come for a soft opening before and it was too busy and hectic then.

They currently have a grand opening promotion that allows a free dish.

Overall, we had a great experience and are excited to come back and try more dishes. Highly recommend giving them a visit!

First time trying this restaurant. It was so authentic and delicious. The Peking duck was so yummy, the skin so crispy. Eating them in the thin wraps and sauce was delicious. The tofu soup it came with our order was a lovely surprise; even my son ate it and raved about it. We tried so many dumplings, soup dumplings, pan fried and ban baos. All delicious. The crispy green beans were delicious and so authentic. Will definitely be back. Highly recommended.

Dumplings dumplings dumplings. I love dumplings. And sooo many options here. Curry and potato. Chicken and corn. Pork. Beef. Fried, steamed and even soup dumplings with broth inside.

The problem with this place is that I want to order everything on the menu and I can never eat it all!!

Of course you have to start with the traditional crispy duck wraps, and then all the dumplings you can fit in your belly (or to go box!!)

Duck & Dumpling in San Antonio is a hidden gem for anyone craving true Chinese flavors. Every dish I tried was cooked with care and authenticity — from the soup dumplings to the handmade noodles, each bite was spot on.

But the star of the show is the Peking Duck — one of the very few places in San Antonio that serves it authentically. Perfectly crispy skin, tender meat, and all the traditional accompaniments — cucumber, scallions, hoisin, and thin pancakes — beautifully presented.

The eggplant noodle bowl was packed with rich, savory flavor, and the dumplings were soft, juicy, and full of depth. Even the soups felt like something straight out of a family kitchen in Beijing.

If you’re looking for real Chinese food that goes beyond the Americanized standards, this is the place. Excellent food, warm service, and a welcoming atmosphere — I’ll definitely be coming back.
