The Dublin Pub is one of the best Morris County restaurants. We are nestled at the top of Pine Street, just off busy South Street.

Fantastic food and service! Everything was delicious, great portions and came out hot! Not pictured was the pretzels and beer cheese which was 10/10! We ordered the burger and chicken pot pie which were both great! Our waitress, Ronique, was so kind and went out of her way to give us some great service. Ronique is the best! We will be back again

Good food. The service was slow and we had problems flagging down the waiter. We wanted to order more drinks but he was not paying attention to our table. We had to ask the water server to keep getting our waiter. We even waited 20 minutes for the bill and we canceled desert because we had a show to go to around the block and we would have been late if we stayed for desert. Overall the food had good flavor but when I got my reubin sandwich it was cold. Also for the price I feel it didn’t have enough corn beef on the sandwich. It was shredded vs slices. The French fries were cooked perfect. We had appetizers that were good as well, enjoyed the potato skins and also the chips with dip. Overall food was good flavor, the service was slow and inattentive and the parking is like city parking with no parking lot. The staff seemed overwhelmed and we’re inadequate prepared for the rush. Also, the waiter did spill a beer on the table and in a water glass while serving the main course. The atmosphere was more of like an old school pub feel and made it feel like an Irish pub.

My fiancé and I stopped in for dinner before a night out. The restaurant was packed, but the bar cleared out as some patrons were awaiting a show at the theater next door.

We loved the vibe, very clean and elegant. We sat at the bar and got dinner. I ordered the Reuben with sweet potato fries. The sandwich was delicious, 9.5/10. The fries, however, tasted like they were bought frozen and heated up in an airfryer. They didn’t taste bad by any means, but I did expect better.

My fiancé got the wedge salad with steak & a side of regular fries. The steak was great, but the salad was too drenched in dressing. I would definitely recommend ordering the dressing on the side. Her fries were much better than mine, I should mention.

Overall, a great spot that we’d definitely come back to. Manhattan prices, but that’s to be expected these days.

I felt like I stepped into a pub in Ireland. Food is professional Irish fair. Everything I tried was delicious down to the perfectly poured Pint of Guinness. I had a couple appetizers. Soft baked pretzels that were served with a warm Irish cheddar beer cheese dip. I could have ate a dozen of them. The Irish potato skins were big pieces of baked potato topped with tender corned beef and melted cheddar cheese with sour cream. The Irish spice bag chicken sandwich had crazy good flavor with crispy juicy chicken tenders , hot peppers , fried onion, “chip shop curry sauce”, on a big brioche bun and the Shepards pie was the best I’ve ever had. Juicy seasoned ground beef , carrots, onions, and peas topped with creamy
Mashed potatoes. Great friendly service. Lots of room to sit for dinner or lunch and a big bar. Lots of drink options and authentic Irish pub decor.

You felt like you walked into a piece of history. The decor on the walls were little pieces of Ireland history memories. We sat next to the lantern across from the bar. It was a wonderfully cozy environment. The location on a hill off Main Street was great for a quiet afternoon. The bar served our table, and a few of the waitstaff were in the dining area. Steady flow into restaurant, but not crowded. The food was excellent and potato soup was a good choice on a crisp fall day. I recommend if you are in the area.

330pm, just as The Nutcracker matinee let out. Many kids and families. This is a small place, with a small staff and kitchen. If you’re in a rush, it’s not the place for you. That is not a complaint, just a fact, and also more Irish…. just slow down and enjoy yourself. Staff was friendly and attentive, food was good, and as expected. My wife’s Manhattan even had brandied cherries, which had her quite pleased. Onion rings were perfect, sliders as well. Dublin burger was very good. Atmosphere, upscale Irish, and comfortable. Steps from the Mayo….a perfect date day destination.

Updated review:

They reduced the batter on the fish so it is much better. Still too thick for my taste but it is better. The food here is generally better than Stirling Tavern. They also dropped the charge for ice.

The only problem is how close the tables are to each other and the bad bar design that has pinch points where it is impossible not to get bumped – I do not go to a restaurant to dine with complete strangers and that is the case with nearly every table here.

Good lunch spot as it is quieter so less likely to have to dine with strangers on the next table.

Original review:
First visit here since the refurbishment and new management.

The first impression is it is no longer a dive bar – it is now very bright and modern but that also means it is nothing like an old school Irish bar and the only thing that makes it seem Irish are a couple of menu items and a few decorations on the walls and ceiling.

So on to the food. We went for lunch and ordered fish and chips, onion rings and a ham and cheese toastie. The batter on the fish and chips is just way too thick. The result is the outside is overcooked and the inside batter is pasty as it isn’t fully cooked, the curry sauce was overly sweet but nicely spiced and the mushy peas were just ok. The onion rings were excellent – the same batter as the fish, but this time the correct amount so works very well. The ham and cheese toastie was very average. The fish and chips could really be excellent by reducing the batter on the fish, less sugar in the curry sauce and making the mushy peas taste like peas. I am hopeful they make these slight changes as coming from the UK these tweaks really would make it a legitimate menu item.

The staff were incredibly friendly, but we did have periods with empty glasses while trying to get the attention of a server to take another drink order. On the subject of drinks, they charged $2 for ‘rocks’ (although ice is served for free with water so go figure), $1 for a mixer and $13 for vodka – we’ve had much better pours at many, many Morristown bars for $13, not the $16 charged here.

There is an issue that I do not think they can easily fix – the bar while impressive, is just too large for the room. That means there just isn’t enough space for patrons to easily navigate past people sitting at the bar – especially by the front entrance. I think the only way to fix it would be to install a new door at the very front and remove the wall that causes the very narrow space on the right of the current door. While we were there, a woman sitting in the narrow pinch point moved to avoid being bumped even though it was a relatively quiet lunch time – my wife was there last week on a Saturday at 10pm and she said it was ridiculous trying to get to the bar.

I am giving an average rating from this visit but I absolutely will be back to try other menu items and hope the food improves. I would encourage you to visit to give the new menu a try.

They do however seriously need to stop charging $2 for ice and $1 for a tiny splash of a mixer in a cocktail if they want us to use it as a bar…that is just price gouging without being transparent. Just call it a $16 cocktail up front without hidden ‘extras’ that every other bar includes.

Irishman once told me, you can tell it’s an authentic Irish pub by the quality of whiskey they serve. Well, the Dublin Pub in Morristown has plenty of quality whiskeys, and amazing food to go with it. The corned beef rueben was real corned beef, crisp slaw, and on fresh marble rye, absolutely amazing, a must have! The bar vibe was great, soccer game was on, and the bartender was spectacular.
