We had a great late lunch here, after not having visited for many years. Lynette was so real and a pleasure to have as a waiter. Drinks were delicious & creative. Prices are incredibly reasonable. The fried clams & fried shrimp were the stars of the meal. Cooked perfectly. You could tell by the color that fried oil is changed or cleaned regularly. I was surprised to see French onion soup on the menu and it was really good. The chowder was classic, like I remember from growing up. Thin broth with a ton of clams and some potatoes. It’s just not my favorite since a creamier broth is more satisfying for me. Liked the onion rings. We’ll def be back soon to try all the other menu items that we’d like to try.

My husband and I sat at the bar Saturday night and Tawna waited on us. She was so nice and efficient and made Michael a Cosmo and for me she made one of their special holiday drinks called “a partridge in a pear tree” which had Absolute pear vodka and prosecco in it. We shared a side of their famous onions rings and baked scallops casserole topped with Ritz crackers for dinner. It was delicious and plentiful. It came with two sides so we had their fresh broccoli and wedge salad (iceberg lettuce & tomatoes) which Tawna brought out before the entree which was great! This quaint neighborhood bar/restaurant that has been around since 1961 was also festively decorated. They hung garland and lights from their ceiling which looked awesome.

The portion sizes are great. The food isn’t overcooked – though my whole family did get sick the next day, so maybe undercooked? There’s a long wait to get in, and the place has high ratings, which really disappointed me for how our food came out.

The food had the flavor of cardboard. It’s extremely unfortunate since the seafood was moist and juicy, but somehow, they managed to make it completely flavorless, I didn’t know that was physically possible. Everything needed a healthy serving of salt and be smothered in sauce to be tolerable, except their onion rings, which still needed salt.

I use a cane, yet they seated us in an area that made me almost fall twice, trying to get between empty tables to the table they seated us at. Our table wasn’t anywhere close to level. You could roll quarters down the thing with very little effort, and our waitress ignored us several times when we were trying to call her over.

Overall – do not recommend

Food was great. Atmosphere great. Service was not so great. I understand they are busier during the holidays. But our waitress was not so good. The bartender had to come over and take our order after waiting for over 1 hour. People who came in after us had eaten and left. Really don’t know exactly what the issue was.

This is a local spot I have been going to for years. If you want excellent new england fried clams, scallops, shrimp ,fish etc. it will be hard to find a better place. It can get pretty crowded but it is an early crowd so if you go after 7pm you rarely have to wait. You can’t go wrong with the Fried Fisherman’s Platter or Triple Combo. The portions are excellent and the drinks are great too. If you want a casual and delicious meal, definitely pop in here.

Excellent service! Was seated with water and beer immediately, which was very nice.

Clams were very good. Not the absolute best of my life, but they were at a price I can afford to come back for. I had already eaten maybe 5 or 6 before I remembered to snap a picture.

Servings are giant, two people could have easily shared the platter I ordered. Will return for sure.

Total was $37 for more clams than I could eat and a Budweiser. That’s all I could ask for in 2024

I’ve never had a bad experience here. Every single plate I’ve ever eaten from here is made to perfection. It’s by far my favorite seafood restaurant. The waitresses are always so nice, I’ve never had to complain or wait around even though they get really busy. Their drinks are delicious & they always have something new on the drink menu to choose from. Their portions are huge…I always go home with a left over take home plate for another meal to eat at home. By far my favorite place to eat.

I was in town for a few days. Brought my lil cousin to see my school, Salem State University and then toured the Peabody Essex Museum. Of course I couldn’t conclude the date without so much as a seafood platter. Dube’s Seafood was the awesomest…
