I gave this place multiple chances and tried to be understanding, but every experience was unprofessional. Orders are consistently wrong, items are often out of stock, and substitutions are made without asking or notifying you until pickup. Staff are rude both in person and over the phone. On one visit, I was even mocked for how I pronounced a dish, despite of being so close . That was the final straw. I will not return. This restaurant seriously needs customer service training.
They’re clearly just getting off the ground, so they haven’t found their feet with service fully. The owner was running everything and while it didn’t impact our experience, i hope they can get just one server soon to make things a little smoother. That being said, they’re obviously putting their money to the quality of their food, and it shows.
Our meal started with ginger and pineapple juice. The ginger juice was bold and in-your-face with that wonderful ginger heat. I’m a big ginger fan and it really delivered.
They were out of our first choice of appetizers so we went with what was labeled a salad. What we got was essentially a potato salad. A good potato salad, but it felt strange to have as an appetizer, and I’m not sure i could recommend it for the price
The Jollof Rice was astounding. We got it with goat, which was cooked to absolute perfection. The rice itself was well flavored and the garnishes really added to the dish. i would definitely recommend this for anyone looking to do their toe into an unfamiliar cuisine.
The Kom was also wonderful, and the fish was cooked perfectly and not overpowering at all. It was served with a delicious sauce, and the owner suggested eating it with my hands. She provided a bowl to wash my hands in before and after, and i have to say that it added to the meal. this is also a big recommend from me.
With fresh ingredients, and a well deserved pride in the food they serve, we will certainly be going back, and look forward to trying everything on the menu.
The shito, djinkume, chevre fritte, degue, oxtail soup, atieke, akpan, and fish were AMAZING!
