Pound for pound the best restaurant in the Bay Area. The food the drinks the atmosphere the service. Wife and I have been coming here for years and it’s the best every single time. We went last night for a post birthday/Valentine’s Day celebration. The GM Clancy walked us to our table held a conversation the entire walk and at our table briefly just a regular conversation easy and nice just human that human being warm and welcomed. We had two apps two entrees and some drinks just south of $250 and the food was FANTASTIC!!!

I’ve seen it all, but Dry Creek Grill in San Jose really impressed me. This spot has mastered the balance of high-end comfort food and an atmosphere that makes you want to stay all night.
The Starters & Drinks:
We kicked things off with the Calamari. It was perfectly crispy and the ideal way to start the meal. My mother also enjoyed the wine selection; while I didn’t snag a photo of the glasses, she was a huge fan of the quality and variety they offered.
The Main Event:
I ordered the Braised Short Rib, and it was nothing short of phenomenal.
• The Texture: As you can see in my video, it was unbelievably tender—it practically fell apart at the touch of a fork.
• The Flavor: Rich, savory, and cooked to absolute perfection. If you visit, this is a must-order!
The Service:
A huge shoutout to our waiter! I didn’t catch his name, but he was a total character in the best way possible. He had the personality of a professional actor or a top-tier streamer—super attentive, highly engaging, and he really ‘put on a show’ that made our night special.
The Verdict:
Between the top-tier short ribs and the incredible staff, this was a perfect experience. Whether you’re here for a family dinner or just great wine and appetizers, Dry Creek Grill delivers. I’ll definitely be back!

I’d put Dry Creek Grill in the category of upscale, casual dining. They have a full bar, a good selection of wine and a decent selection of beer. Unfortunately, the service we had was very poor. For instance, I ordered a beer, and could see it sitting on the bar, and it took 4½ minutes for our waiter to bring it to me. Other drink orders were equally slow, as was water service. At no point did he come by to ask if our food was good. Besides the service, the food was good. Two of us had the Tues tacos ($18), steak, chicken and shrimp (one of each) which were tasty. One person got the burger ($22), and the other a salad. The meatballs appetizer was not a hit, but that’s just personal taste.

We booked ahead of time and were given a choice of booth or table. We chose table. The restaurant wasn’t too busy as it was a cold, rainy evening.

All said and done, I will not be in a rush to go back to the Dry Creek Grill.

Dry Creek Grill was an excellent experience from start to finish. This will be a go to spot whenever I’m in the San Jose area! I would definitely recommend the meatloaf and the short ribs they were flavorful with decent portions.

When comfort food is calling for you, this might be the place. The menu seemed to have something for everyone. Great outdoor fire pits offer a phenomenal spot to wait for your table. Reservations are highly encouraged as this place can get crowded, but if you can wait until after the usual rush hours you might be better off. I showed up without a reservation a little after 8pm and there was plenty of room. The bar looked impressive and I had a phenomenal cocktail (The Firecracker) while my companion had a half-bottle of Chardonnay (yes, they offer this on their wine menu). The food was great and prices were reasonable. Will definitely come back again. One thing I would say is that a certain support server could benefit from training as he interrupted our discussion with our main server to deliver our appetizers while we were sorting out our wine selection. It was both comical and awkward at the same time.

Overall experience was delightful. Been many of times and experience never disappoints. I got Salmon and my man got the meatloaf and baby got steamed veggies. The mashed potatoes tasted funny somehow as well as the cauliflowers. Outside area has continued to improve every time I visit. I loved the meatloaf when preggo but it didn’t taste the same. I love the ambiance inside and wished I was not too shy to take photos.

All is still good. I just wish that there were more vegetarian choices for my date to enjoy. This is why we rarely visit.
This place turned out to be a wonderful experience all around. Although living here for years, I never noticed this restaurant despite having driven past it countless times
We only found out about here by doing a Google search for ‘restaurants near me.’ We were stunned by what we found.
This place is literally tucked away behind the Shell gas station. The outside was very well maintained. The gas burning heaters outside were roaring with a high, yet inviting flame.
The inside of the restaurant was beautiful and elegant. The lighting, the sound levels, and the decor were all done well.
Our server was Christian, and he was awesome right off the bat. There was an entire crew quietly delivering and removing dishes, which helped our server ensure our drinks were never empty.
The food was delicious. The butternut squash ravioli tasted very fresh and homemade. It did not taste “corporate. “
Overall, we loved this visit and know there will be more.

I was a little bit skeptical that a restaurant and what is basically a strip mall could actually be a nice dining experience. I came here for a birthday with my family and the first surprise was just walking in the restaurant. It’s much nicer right inside the door than the outside hints. The restaurant is also very expensive. It just keeps going and going. Much larger than the outside suggests. I like the dark colors inside and the use of wood everywhere. It definitely has the ambience of a fine dining experience. The employees have clearly been trained well and are extremely friendly and kind. The food was also delicious. All around, this was a great dining experience and I thought the price point was set correctly for the value it gives. I would definitely come here again for a nice occasion.

This place is amazing! I took my boyfriend here for his birthday dinner and we had a great time. He got the meatloaf and I had the blackened mahi. The staff was so nice and the ambiance was everything you could ask for if you’re looking to have a relaxing dinner and celebrate a loved one. Highly recommend!

Joe Bango and his little gal Pango..yeah, I know, but she’s from the Philippines…invited me to there house for a BBQ, and of course I would go because Joe used to run a BBQ pit in Memphis, and he knows his stuff around a Q!
Little did I know he lives a block away from the Dry Creek Grill, you can see the place from his front door! So about 20 minutes, and a beer after I got there Pango walks over to the Dry Creek Grill, and snags a bunch of half chickens and stuff, and then tells me Joe hasn’t lit charcoal since we moved here! And…Let me just say this, the chicken was perfect! Juicy, and more tender than your first girlfriend.
5 ☆☆☆☆☆ and worthy of a two hour drive!
