Since moving to New Orleans we had not eaten at Drusilla Seafood Restaurant in several years. This is unfortunately as we had forgotten how good it was. We really like the atmosphere and the decor is nice with lots of seating and several private dining rooms. The food is local specialties and is very good. We love the complementary hush puppies and the fish dishes are great. The service is also excellent, our server was very friendly and attentive. We will definitely return soon.

I had lunch with a friend here today and was very pleased. The warm friendly greeting by the desk, the outstanding service from Daii who was attentive and full of positive personality, to delicious food everything was exemplary.
We had the coconut shrimp appetizer which was flavorful and perfectly cooked. My friend had the fish Almandine and a sweet potato and was very happy with the flavor, texture, and presentation. I had the Drusilla which is a fish filet with an onion and mushroom sauce and a baked potato. The flavors were a perfect meld and the presentation was good. We both had house salad with Sensation sauce which was delicious. Overall, it is an old-school seafood experience which is harder to find in this day and age. Great service, a warm and receptive atmosphere and outstanding food. I will certainly be back.

I quit going to Drusilla Seafood Restaurant about twenty years ago because I thought the quality of their dinners had gone down in quality. Well, they are back to serving GREAT FOOD!!! From the salad to the hush puppies to the entrees to the desserts, everything that both my wife and I had were over the top delicious!!! If you have not been there recently, you may want to go back and give them a try now.

We chose this restaurant for my birthday dinner. The service was less than acceptable. After a 45 minute wait and two failed attempts to correct my order, an appropriate resolution was not even offered. I ordered the fish of the day but received a stuffed flounder. The items have two completely different sauces listed on the menu. The second plate was the correct fish but somehow they managed to put the incorrect sauce. When I spoke to the manager, I was offered a dessert. Ultimately, I left without an entree. The baked potato was brought to our table with zero condiments. By the time they returned, the potatoes were cold. The salads were brought out after the entrees. The gumbo was black and had the consistency of tar. I have 25 years of cooking experience and as a caterer and business owner myself, I would have never served that to a customer. My family traveled from Mississippi to join me for this birthday dinner and I am beyond disappointed.

We decided to go to Drusilla for our Christmas Eve dinner this year and had a wonderful experience. The service exceeded our expectations and the food was just incredible. Highly recommend the fried shrimp, au gratin, and the chicken piccata. Everything was done to perfection. Even the kids chicken fingers were homemade. Thank you for making our evening so special! We will be back soon!

I can completely understand having a busy location but to have a private area and waiter still not be able to check on the customer more frequently than what we got is absurd. Training needs to be spread around the board because the hostess(over the phone info) and waiters seem not to know certain rules. We had 2 kids and nowhere on this menu is it stated “kids meals are not free due to being in a private room”, nor does it list “deposit required for private room”. We intended to pay for the meals but it is advertised on the menu for the kids on Sunday which is the day we chose to eat. Got our bill and then they come tell us, kids cant eat free on Sunday because we were in the private room and not in dining area. the manager then goes to say “we also got the room without a deposit which the hostess shouldn’t have done”. So with all that being said the 4 people who was with us came to the decision to not want to return anytime soon and won’t be recommending anyone to go either on no day.

Had a party of 15, the host was unwelcoming when was told all our party had arrived was asked are you sure with all 15 standing, was seated order was placed I didn’t not like my food another person said she felt ill from the taste told the server she had to get a manager. Joshua came to the table in nasty manner asked what wrong she still felt ill and said I don’t want it was ask why her rely don’t want it was exchanged. It ended with each of receiving our bill all was prepared for the gratuity this is not a first time eating out, on each of our bill was written the gratuity and circle. Even with bad the services all of usually like to give more for the effort but with the amount circle on our bill we was very happy to pay the amounts circled only. Improvement is needed we all have agreed not to return.
