Really great skewers! Their sashimi tastes very fresh as well. It has a small izakaya vibe, nice presentation of food.

This place is a hidden gem! Almost every dish’s we ordered was absolutely delicious. My favorite was the beef tongue — it’s not even on the menu, but if you get the chance to try it, don’t miss out. It was tender with just the right amount of chewiness, and it paired perfectly with rice.
The staff here are excellent — very attentive and genuinely make sure you’re well taken care of. Their service really adds to the overall dining experience.
The only downside is the parking. The lot is pretty small, so it can be a bit of a hassle during busy times. But honestly, the food and service more than make up for it. Highly recommend!

I visited here for the first time tonight, and I was immediately impressed by the authentic Japanese cuisine. All the dishes were incredibly fresh and beautifully presented. The seasoning was spot-on, and you could tell the ingredients were of high quality. My favorite dish was the scallop carpaccio. I’ll definitely be back!

I had a great dining experience at Drunken Monk. The atmosphere is pleasant, and the staff is friendly. The pace of the meal was just right, and the food was exceptionally well prepared.
The fried chicken skin was perfect—crispy but not too hard, with excellent seasoning that was primarily salty with a slight sweetness and a hint of seaweed flavor.
I enjoyed a variety of yakitori dishes, each beautifully executed with unique flavors and tenderness specific to each cut of meat.
The red and yellow uni were both flavorful and fresh.

Food here is delicious and the sushi is a definite standout but you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu.

Great Sukiyaki! Ever since I had one in Japan, I wanted to find something similar in the Bay Area. This is the first one that came close. While the one in Japan’s still better I think, with the thickness and tenderness of the meat more perfect, I wouldn’t be too picky about it half a world away. It’s even more pleasant to be able to find something right near home in Menlo Park, which had traditionally been lacking authentic food options from east Asia.

10/10 service and vibes – Tracy and Chloe were amazing hosts and genuinely cared about every detail of our experience. The atmosphere is elevated yet calming and the perfect vibe to celebrate a special occasion.
10/10 food – everything we tried was so delicious, we stopped by for a quick bite after an afternoon out with friends and were lucky to get a table (definitely recommend reserving ahead). We weren’t too hungry to start but could have easily kept ordering because everything we tried was so delicious, immaculately presented and unique to this experience (see pictures for details). Recommend you make the time to visit here for any special occasion, or as a bucket-list item.

The environment was fantastic, and I had the chance to experience the Omakase nigiri prepared by the sushi chef. The fish was incredibly fresh and seasoned perfectly, making every bite an absolute delight. They also offer a wonderful selection of drinks to pair with the meal. To top it off, their yakitori was outstanding, with just the right amount of seasoning. Overall, a great dining experience—definitely worth a visit!

Food and atmosphere were very pretty good. Highly recommend the skewers. Meat was soft. Many people wait during weekend. Service was good and it felt cozy. However, the toilet was a mess. It was very dirty (disgusting level). It should be improved.
