The view is definitely the highlight here—absolutely stunning. You’re mainly paying for the view, and it’s worth it if that’s what you’re after. The food was good, and service was attentive. We came for Sunday brunch and were seated right away; it wasn’t too busy. Food and drinks arrived fairly quickly.
That said, a few small things kept it from being a five-star experience. One drink (a simple glass of rosé sparkling) we had to remind them, and the chicken wings were overly salty. These details left us with mixed feelings, but overall, still a nice spot to enjoy a scenic meal.

We scheduled a reservation, but upon arriving, there was a sign that said, “Please Seat Yourself.” After being there for a few minutes, the Bartender on-duty politely gave us a menu and let us know our server would be with us shortly. Our Server took an absolutely ridiculous amount of time to come to our table. Once we ordered, our drinks took a long while to get to us (it was one cocktail and one beer). This would not be a big deal, however, counting the two of us, there were only 8 people total in the restaurant (4 of which were at the bar). The food arrived decently once it was ordered. Then, our server and the food runner went to a corner in open view and played on their phones rather than pay attention to any of the guests. We wanted to order more, but felt like the lack of service, and any attention to anyone present in the restaurant diminished us wanting to be there longer.
I feel like the only member of the staff present who fully appreciated the guests was the bartender. The food runner and our server, I cannot say as much. I truly feel like they felt like they cared about their phones more than any paying guests who were actually present in the restaurant. We were finished with our meal and drinks for awhile before our server came back to check on us; despite the fact that we were in full view the entire time.
The restaurant does have an amazing view, though.

My wife and I have been going down a list of LA hotspots, for our date nights and for the most part they’ve been amazing! This time I took a chance on Dream Rooftop, as a late lunch before a show we attended at The Pantages. From the moment we pulled up to valet I knew I made a mistake. This place is trash, and it attracts trash. The service was trash but bless our little waitress’ heart, she was trying the best she could but you could tell she was overwhelmed and frustrated, it was wildly understaffed and she had zero support. The food was no good, and wildly overpriced, $70 for steak frites and came nowhere close to what we’ve come to expect from other establishments. I had to select from a small selection of food and drink, since they were OUT of nearly everything I wanted. I opted for the chicken sandwich, which was flavorless – which is crazy for a spicy chicken sandwich. The ambiance was okay but everything felt dirty, like a Target bathroom. The crowd was “grimey” and to confirm that, and to cap it all off, here’s what happened when we left: I couldn’t get out fast enough, so I asked for the check, and left cash so we could get out of there – $160 exactly. When we were waiting for our car from valet, a worker runs out screaming to the valet guy that ‘some guy just ditched on a bill! have you seen him’? Then she sees me and comes over and tells me I need to pay! I laughed and asked her if she was serious, and told her to check her cameras because I left cash with the bill. Turns out one of the patrons watched me put cash for the bill, got up as soon as I left and pocketed the money! That’s a first for us. Be careful with this place, avoid it all all costs if you can, there’s too many other nice places to go in the area. Dirty, lousy service, terrible food, poor overpriced drinks, and grimey patrons.

Not sure if this place is still just getting their footing (only one other view) or if we were just there on an off day. We had a party of 3 and were seated immediately. The cocktail menu looked amazing and we wanted to try it all! Unfortunately, we waited 40 minutes for our first cocktail and didn’t have time to waste waiting another 40 minutes for any other drink or food. It might be more reasonable to plan an afternoon by their pool where you don’t have a time limit. The cocktails we ordered were fantastic and the view was killer. I wish I got to try more.

A perfect place for a rooftop meal and hangout. From the service to the food, everything felt personalized to our experience. Service: attentive without being overbearing. Shoutout to Caitlyn for taking care of us and to the manager, Corey, for checking in on us. Drinks: well-balanced and festive. Food: flavorful – the chicken sandwich is a must-try! Atmosphere: rooftop bar in Hollywood with a great view north (perfect view of the Hollywood sign) and west. Music wasn’t too loud, seating was spaced out well enough to enjoy each other’s company, and the backdrop of an accessible pool made me want to stay longer than I could.

We’ve been coming to the Dream rooftop for years, mainly for the stunning city views, not the food, which has always been mediocre. Unfortunately, our recent visits have been consistently disappointing, and Mother’s Day was the final straw.
We waited over 15 minutes just for a host to appear, even though the place wasn’t busy. Service throughout the meal was sluggish and inattentive. Two of our four meals arrived significantly later than the others, leaving half our table awkwardly waiting while the other half had food getting cold. When the food did arrive, it was underwhelming. My eggs tasted like they’d been microwaved, and the steak was nearly inedible.
Simple requests like water glasses or napkins took an unreasonably long time to fulfill. It’s clear the experience here has gone downhill, which is a real shame given the unbeatable location and panoramic views.
