Fast forward to November 26, 2025 where me and my girlfriend got off work a little early so decided to go to Mister B’s(shoutout them for great food and good service every time we’ve been so far) only to find out they would be closing in 20 minutes(we try to avoid eating at places that close to closing time due to past experiences and just so that maybe the kitchen can get a little bit of a head start cleaning). Upon hearing that information we realized Drake’s was the closest place still open so decided to give them another chance even though we said we wouldn’t after the incident in May. We seat ourselves and order the southwest egg rolls(delicious but not cut, no biggie). Then we receive our order of build your own fish tacos where whoever the cook was could visibly see they overcooked each tortilla(i think 8 in total) but still decided to send out. We know we should’ve said something and probably would’ve received new tortillas but by then the fish would’ve probably been cold. Instead we elected to at least attempt to eat them but couldn’t bare the hard shells. We had decided to still try the dessert(even though our server brought us our ticcet about 10 minutes into receiving our food) which was good but not enough to overlook the hard shells so that will be our last trip to this Drake’s.
My wife’s chicken strips were flavorful. Not as crispy as she likes but we didn’t ask for extra crispy. Fries were OK.
Not a bad experience.
Update:
Ate mini burgers and loaded tots and both were very good. The ice cream on a cookie drizzled with chocolate and caramel though was the bomb.
Service was better than last time. Thank you Phoenix
Update: 4/25/25
Brought my husband here for the first time the other day. Service was slow on this day. Took awhile to be acknowledged and receive drink and food order. I think it was Jody or Jodi who was our hostess.
The fries and tots weren’t fresh, they were hard with black specks from the fryer. My quesadilla tasted great though and the drinks had right amount of carbonation. I needed refills and had to get her attention because I never saw her. I always love the videos on screen while eating. Got to hear Gerry Rafferty’s Baker Street. ❤️
