We tried Drakes Fine Foods & Spirits in Sartell and were really impressed with the entrees. The Crab Stuffed Salmon with sweet potato fries was fresh and flavorful, and the Drakes Chicken Boursin with mashed potatoes was rich and perfectly prepared. The food overall was excellent and exceeded expectations.

The only drawback is that the restaurant is attached to a senior living facility, so the clientele skews much older. It made conversation a bit difficult at times due to louder voices and longer service interactions. It would be nice if there were a separate dining area for residents and for other guests.

That said, the food quality will absolutely bring us back. Next time, we’ll plan to come later in the evening for what we hope will be a quieter experience.

A friend and I decided to head to Drakes for an early dinner. I’ve had their breakfast and it is always delicious! We had a nice table, ordered some drinks and an appetizer. The white wines we ordered were warm and tasted as if we had an old bottle. But the food was delicious. The wine glasses were crusty and dirty. The server nicely replaced one glass. However, the new glass also felt crusty. I didn’t have the heart to tell her that one was bad too. The wine was warm. The glasses crusty, but the food and service were great! Just a little advice would be to make sure glasses don’t feel crusty and the white wines are chilled nicely. Major compliments to the chef and the service!

Wow, this place is a hidden gem! We were impressed. My husband and I came here for the first time for dinner. We ordered the crab stuffed salmon and Drakes chicken boursin (suggester by the server). They were really good! The asparagus was very delicious, and the bread and butter were amazing. I should have gotten more asparagus lol. The server was very warm and friendly. I love the atmosphere of the restaurant. We’ll definitely be back!

Saturday rib special and the honey mustard chicken sandwich. Second time here and I will keep coming back. Husband got the salmon and he always orders salmon and said this is the best he has ever had!

I took my lovely mom to Drake’s and she had the roasted pork loin wrapped in bacon and I had Friday night coconut shrimp which I only could feed eat half of it. So I got two meals. Ari (ariana) a great waitress thank you for your wonderful service.

Hate to leave bad reviews but felt misled by the billboard off the highway that brought me in. Billboard said Fine Dining and Spirts. This is a restaurant in a seniors home and that is the atmosphere you’ll find. Food was senior sized portions and was average at best. If you’re looking for a place to take grandma for dinner this will do but it’s not fine dining. Service was good.

If I had an option for NEGATIVE Stars, that’s what I and my guests would be selecting.
On a Sunday, 12:30p.m., restaurant had patrons but not overwhelmingly busy. First table we were seated at could have been considered a ‘rocking table’ as it was so unstable. We attempted to level it, to no avail. We then moved to a different table, one large e nough to seat the three of us and completely cleared of any previous customer remnants. At this point, a male server began snapping at us that the table was dirty and he could not have anyone sitting at it! We explained the problem with the first table to which he said “I know, BUT I CANNOT HAVE YOU AT THIS TABLE!!”.
As we returned to previously assigned table, we all determined we did not need to be spoken to that harshly, and mutually agreed to walk out.
Myself and my two guests have over 100 years combined hands-on experience in the food industry, and had just completed two nights of cooking and serving over 200 guests each night for a local dinner theater production, so we do understand how it is supposed to work. This particular server always come across as overworked and stressed, every time I visit this establishment. Perhaps he find a different job with less stress or at least learn how to speak to customers, not berate them.
We quickly found a reliable and cheerful server at Jimmy’s Pour House.

It’s in a nursing home…if you can get past that fact, they are open to everyone. The food is good, the service is nice and the prices are better than you’d find elsewhere for comparable food. I’m not sure how they’d advertise the fact that they are in a nursing home, but it can be a surprise when you’re thinking you’ve made a reservation at an “upscale” restaurant as they’ve described themselves in their google description. It’s not that – it’s not upscale, the decor is somewhere between perkins and old super club. It made for a slightly strange experience while we were on a date for valentines day dinner. The crowd was 75/25 residents to other couples that all also had a strange look on their face and felt slightly awkward that they were here for a nice dinner in a nursing home…it was a weird experience that we will likely laugh about for years to come…remember that time we went to a nursing home for our valentines day dinner. I’ll finish with/reiterate – the food was good and everyone was super nice. Go there and enjoy a good meal, just know it’s at a nursing home.

It’s in a nursing home of some discretion. The atmosphere feels sterilized and the chairs feel like your waiting for your taxes to be done. The food was grease yet under seasoned. The cost is definitely way way over what ot should be. Drinks were all bottom shelf liquor and not made in the traditional manners. Overall I’d say avoid this place…..
