So far so good. I came here from a Google recommendation. It was the burgers and grilled chicken that caught my attention and neither were on the menu today ♀️ …they explained that burgers and chicken are not an everyday menu item…. They are KNOWN for their ribs. This place is kind of ducked off and hidden a little bit. I haven’t gotten my food just yet but from the ambiance alone (the vibe the atmosphere the cashier the owner’s mom) this place feels like home. You know back when you came home from another state to grandmas house if gramma was cool in her youth lol ….yup thats what this place feels like. The music is cool calm and soulful…. Currently listening to Choosy Lover as I wait for my food straight from the spa this place is a perfect follow up … I gotta feeling this food is gonna be GOOD…. I will add the pics when the food comes…. All that to say I haven’t even tasted it yet and i can confidently say that I highly recommend finding this place if you are in the mood for BBQ…. hopefully the grilled chicken wings and burgers get added as an everyday option ShoutOut Mr. Drake….im talking to you on that part that’s what’s rare to find these days….good seasoned grilled chicken and from the pictures those burgers look like they’re (fie)✍ ….

Stopped here on the way to casino! Food was great. Got a pork butt sandwich and ate a piece of rib! Pork was tender and moist! Didn’t even get a chance to sauce it. Ribs was great as well. Definitely recommend!

I was driving through Greenwood, Mississippi and my lunch options were looking bleak. Out of pure desperation, I pulled into the first thing I saw… a Popeye’s Chicken. Thankfully though, the ridiculously long line at the drive-thru wasn’t moving so I had time to pull up Yelp (and cross-reference on Google Maps) and that led me 3/4-mile down the road to Drake’s — and I’m so glad.
I pulled in and there were two huge smokers sitting in the parking lot of this nondescript little strip mall that I would’ve driven right past. Inside I found super friendly folks, some incredible smells, and I was thrilled to see my Florida Gators represented in their wall decor.
I got a pulled pork sandwich combo with two sides (the potato salad was great but the mac n cheese was ridiculous!). Everything was delicious.

I came south for a funeral I reside in Michigan and this was worth the trip while I was in town food and service so good make mexwant to make the 13 hour drive to get again only let down was no strawberry cake

I hate to shed a bad light on a black owned business but everything about our visit was terrible. From the attitude of the person working the counter, to the cold food, to the slow service.. We usually love Drakes but the last 2 times we’be been as been such a bad experience. Granted the line was out the door and they were super busy but as a growing black business, that should be a good thing! no need for the attitude when business is coming in! Shame on you Drakes!

This was my second time eating here, the tips have waayyy to much fat on them. The wait to order was way to long (like 20 minutes) and the customer service was with a attitude after she held up the line for 20 minutes talking to two ladies. I also noticed workers from the kitchen come out with gloves on to get food from the front, handled door handles, then went back to back to handle food in same gloves. I was too done! I won’t be back!

Rib plate was awesome. Sauce not even needed, great flavor. Yellow potato salad the way my dad made it. Portions were great. Come hungry, you’ll leave full. Great, no frills, good old local style eatery. Would eat here again.
