Ordered Dragon Phoenix and general tso to go and it was not what was described on the menu. The dinner Dragon Phoenix which says it comes with mushroom, peapod, carrot, mushroom, bok choy, bamboo shoot and waterchestnuts (my fav). As you can see in Pic it only had bok choy, celery, carrot. I love vegetables and wanted all the ones listed. They did put a big portion of chicken in it. There were 4 large shrimp. Taste was good just didn’t get mushroom or waterchestnuts and No rice, although I asked when ordering and he said it came with white rice. General tso lunch portion had 2 pieces of broccoli, was a bit spicy but good and a big portion for the lunch special.
There were 2 tables with 4 chairs in the small dining storefront. The staff was very kind. I like that they let you pack up your own condiments so they don’t go to waste as I never use any of them.
Will try again but will specify i want all the vegetables.

The prices are reasonable, but the food is just average for Chinese-American takeout. I ordered Singapore Mei Fun, and it barely had any shrimp or pork, only a few pieces of each. The curry flavor was weak, and it wasn’t spicy at all. However, it was extremely sweet, as was the hot and sour soup I ordered, which had an excessive level of sweetness. The hot and sour soup itself was mediocre but still edible. I wouldn’t recommend ordering from here if you’re sober; this food would only be enjoyable if you’re drunk or stoned.

Ummmm can I get some egg with that onion..wow. I was told by a great chef once…”if they put that much onion they are hiding the s ent of something”….js. way to many onions to enjoy the meal.and this was only half.

Have done delivery from here like 10 times and just wanted to give them a nod. Most of the Chinese food in the area is aggressive mid or worse.. this place slaps. You get your money’s worth, and they’re consistently great. Will order again- don’t go anywhere else in the area or you’ll have sad food.

Their food is consistently good. Love the sesame chicken, sweet and sour chicken, and pork fried rice.

Born and raised in Chicago’s Chinatown area and now moving up to the suburbs I have been craving and missing the classical Chinese restaurant flavors. Yesterday I ordered General Tso Chicken and and Pork Lo Mein from this lovely mom and pop shop and the food was delicious! It definitely gave me déjà vu to the classical Chinatown flavors. Some of the Chinese restaurants around the suburbs westernize the flavors too much but this restaurant stayed true to their roots. We did get the lunch specials so it was approximately $20 for two full meals and two Coca Colas. For that money you get a variety of protein, carbs and vegetables. Will definitely be ordering from here again!

My more ‘local’ favorite Chinese take out place closed around 9 months ago (Chens in Palatine) and I’ve been looking for a new one since – after trying a dozen+ restaurants, I think this is the winner! It’s a bit of a hike from lake zurich, but so worth it for good Chinese food! (I ordered our usual favorites: sesame chicken, pork lo mein, steamed dumplings, egg roll (and one that I don’t always order with my kids, hot and sour soup). I have other favorites, but those ones are the “bare minimum” of “must be great”)
(The Lo Mein – top right in the pic – is the one thing that I have been searching for someone else to get right since my last place closed.)
I also love that for the entree, for a small upcharge, you can swap the standard included white rice for a side of fried rice, or lo mein. We rarely ate much if any of the rice, but we will eat fried rice (lo mein as well, but I usually order that as a second entree!)

I ordered the Dragon & Phoenix dish for takeout. The description sounded great: fresh shrimp, chunks of chicken, bok choy, mushrooms, snow pea pods, water chestnuts, and bamboo shoots. Unfortunately, the reality didn’t live up to the expectations.
The biggest issue was the chicken. It was dry, tough, and tasted like it had been cooked a long time ago and just reheated. It was very unpleasant to chew and really took away from the dish. The shrimp, on the other hand, were good — fresh and tender. Most of the vegetables were also fine.
However, the dish was missing two of the listed ingredients: bamboo shoots and water chestnuts. Their absence noticeably affected the texture and overall experience.
This dish could have been delicious, but the poor quality chicken and missing ingredients really ruined it. I hope more attention is paid to preparation and order accuracy in the future.

Been going here for years. They are always on- time with food and it tastes great – HOWEVER – the place looks filthy inside. Our family got lunch here and every single person got diarrhea immediately after! For the majority of us, it was the only food we ended up eating that day, so we know it had to be from this restraunt.
