It still breaks my heart being originally from Houston that Charleston doesn’t have the dim sum options, but this was one of the good ones. We started out with the Dragon sampler which was very good. I especially enjoyed the vegetable spring rolls. Amazingly fresh. I ordered the dim sum sampler which was very good (so much so that I ordered extra shumai and har gow). My roomie ordered the chicken lo mein which he liked a lot. The waitress was perfectly attentive and the atmosphere was well designed. I will recommend and return.

This restaurant is so beautiful, the ornate woodwork, the pagoda features, the real China, it all adds to the atmosphere and experience. The food is really great, the flavors are vibrant, the vegetables are crunchy, the house wonton soup is not only delicious but the tureen it was served was a lovely added touch. The restaurant was fairly empty (we had a late lunch 4pm ish), but the staff was super attentive, very polite and the food was made to order. I loved the entire meal.

Early voted in Daniel Island so checked out Dragon Palace for Lunch based on a recommendation from a friend.

Overall it was good but nothing to knock your socks off. I wouldn’t drive from Goose Creek to DI for it.

The Sweet and Sour Chicken was good. Nice larger pieces of Chicken and the batter was on point, crunchy light and fluffy.

The Eye Kew was also good. Had good flavor but the highlight was the Beef as it was so tender.

Dim Sum platter was great. You could tell these were hand made. Five different pieces, the Shu Mai and the Pork were the best. Very light, but flavorful Dumpling Sauce.

The Fried Rice was lacking, just Rice and Soy Sauce. Nothing else to provide flavor. No vegetables, no seasoning.

The Egg Roll was also lacking. Essentially a Fried Cabbage Roll as there was a tiny amount of pork in it. To the point I had to thoroughly search for those red Pork pieces after each bite. The Duck Sauce that was served with it was great though.

These were Lunch Specials but added the Dim Sum and the Egg Roll. Portions were solid for the price of $12.99 per special. Dim Sum was $8.99 and the Egg Roll was $2.75.

It was nice to see a sit down Chinese Restaurant rather than the typical Take Out Style places, especially with some of the originals in the area closing.

As I said before, the meal was good but nothing to go crazy about. Highlights were the Dim Sum and the Beef in the Rib Kew. Everything else was average at best.

I will give them credit for a wide range of items on the menu that you wouldn’t get at a typical Chinese Take Out Style place.

It’s probably the only legit Chinese anywhere near Charleston! They have a cute little shop in an unassuming mall, which is beautifully decorated and upkept.
The kicker is that on Saturdays, they do a dim sum brunch, and it absolutely rules. We got the mix of dumplings, rolls, and steamed dishes, and all were excellent. The host even made some recommendations, which all panned out and made us happy. All the staff were warm, and the entire facility was clean.
Coming from a place with more asian options, my only complaint is the size of the dishes. We got about ten plates for two people, and I had a bowl of rice as well. I could have honestly kept eating, but it was all gone.

Today, we ordered our regular, chicken with mixed vegetables with the garlic sauce & we’re so disappointed. The meal was cold, lacking of flavor (no sauce) & not anything like we were used to from this local restaurant. When called out they said come back and we will fix it. OK, but by then the meal we ordered was cold and they refused to give us hot food. This restaurant has gone down with the usual standards. It used to be reliable for fresh Asian food, not anymore! Very disappointing for residents of Daniel Island

Best Chinese food in the Charleston area. Reminds us of the Chinese food you get in North Jersey and New York City. The egg rolls are fantastic! Good portion size. The restaurant decor is authentic. Highly recommend!

Top tier! The food I ordered was outstanding. I can’t stand food that is over-salted and the Mongolian beef and Ginger shrimp was great! I look forward to coming back.

One thing bothered me though. I went around 730pm on a Saturday and the place was pretty empty! Food that is this good should attract more people! What’s the matter with y’all?!

Great food, can’t find better in Charleston. Always love coming here, family feast is great if you can’t decide on what to get. Family style portions.

We have to preface this with the fact that we lived in NY for almost a decade and got spoiled by the myriad Chinese restaurants there. That said, we have not found anything to compare to that Chinese food experience so we’re a tough sell.
Dragon Palace, which everyone in the Charleston area told us is the only good Chinese restaurant around, was fine. But really, just fine. Some things they do well. Pan fried pork dumplings are tasty. The 5 spice duck is a winner. Shumai, wonton soup, szechuan beef, mixed veggies and dessert were ok – passable. We may go back, we may not. Plenty of parking, friendly service. Easy to get in, even on a weekend night.
