I think this would be a 3-star review except the General Tso’s Chicken is really the best, and has been for ages. They use larger chunks of chicken than anywhere else I’ve been to, so it feels more like real meat instead of little slimy fried things.

The drive-up is also great, though service is not exactly friendly.

Occasionally the chicken is too dry, and other dishes have been hit-or-miss as well.

Important note: The lo mein is in fact horrible, as others have said. If you google lo mein you see thick golden brown noodles that are fried a bit so they have a chew. This is very different. Thin watery noodles in an odd broth, with flavorless chicken. I know lo mein varies by location and I haven’t found a truly great on in this area, but I just can’t imagine anyone enjoying this version.

I was really disappointed with my visit. I ordered lo mein, but what I got looked more like overcooked angel hair noodles with zero flavor—definitely not lo mein. On top of that, the crab rangoons were burnt and barely had any filling. Unfortunately, I won’t be returning.

Got the chicken lo mein. The chicken was boiled, had more slices of onion than there was chicken. The noodles were thin and had no flavor. Only thing that made it redeemable was the hot mustard which went from hot to nuclear in 3 drops.

Wife got the shrimp and lobster sauce. It also had grohnd beef in it, which was also flavorless and dry, in a soup. The pork fried rice was dry, flavorless, and got worse with adding soy sauce.

The shrimp toast was dry and too sweet. The gold fingers were completely bland. The teriyaki stick was ok, but would not get again.

I ended up throwing it all away, I’ve never been so disappointed in a Chinese take out. We won’t be returning

Wanted to have some Chinese food on the eve of Lunar New Year and decided to give this place a try as the reviews are reasonably good.

The food is acceptable though it is not the taste we are used to in Asia. Fair enough that they need to localised. The dishes for set dinner we ordered has too much fried stuff. The portions are very generous and we have to pack half of them back.

The Chinese lady who attended to us was nice and helpful. The ambience is nice too.

Used to love this place. The food was tasty and flavorful. I am not sure if the original guy that owned it retired or sold it, but the quality and taste is not what it used to be. The Hong Kong chicken is absolutely terrible now. The breading is bland as well as the gravy. The breading used to be crispy, but now is soggy and tastes horrible. They stopped adding breaded shrimp to the dinners and instead give you crab rangoon. The steak skewers are less than half the size and are rubbery. Would only go here on rare occasions now

Went new years eve ..reservations for 5pm..not crowded at all
The older waitress we had was rude , hurried and very abrupt in speaking
The fried rice sucked.it was greasy as hell and disgusting
2 of us ordered lo mein. Nothing I’m used to .the noodles were the really thin noodles thinner than angel hair…compared to the thicker noodles I’ve gotten at many other restaurants.
These had no flavor
Do not get the chicken lo mein, flavorless and hardly any chicken

Another got Mongolian beef..swimming in their gravy, horrible..my dog would even eat it

Would never go back

We went for lunch. Service was very rude today. And was crap. And truthfully wasn’t going to tip because of how bad service was. Very disrespectful rude Gave a lot of attitude when we was speaking respectful. But they wouldn’t let us leave until we tipped literally held us. Until we tipped and when I did tip $5 because again service was shit a they was very rude and disrespectful they have attitude when I tipped $5. Made us tip more before they would let us leave…. Will never return.

A real gem. The food was delicious, the server very nice, and the price was a real bargain. The Hong Kong chicken was unique, a great crispiness but the breading was delicate. Very highly recommended.

Drove in form Lorain Ohio. 45 miles one way. I ordered 3 lunch combos to go. 2 sweet and sour chicken with white rice, egg rolls and wonton soup. The 3rd was chicken chow main with pork fried rice and egg rolls.. The egg rolls consisted of mainly cabbage, hint of freezer burn on the crust.
The wonton soup had no onions of additional greenery in it. The broth was watery and the dumplings where so mushy they must if been from the previous day. I saw no pork on my over dry pork fried rice.
We have been eating Dragon Gate since 1989. We won’t be dining there in the future. What a shame such a good restaurant as sacrifice their quality
