So I just moved to the area and I drove past this place several times the past few days and decided to try it tonight.
I have to say I am not impressed. I had high hopes this non chain restaurant would be my new hot spot!!
Sad to say I probably won’t frequent this establishment much.
I asked for my order a speacial way and was told no they do not do that- so I had to switch up what I was going to order and that kinda pissed me off. So im sitting here eating the food and it is just bland. The rice is dry- they would say fluffy I think but I disagree.
Its a one way entrance so if you miss it you have to turn around. The inside was cold and dark. They had a few tables but no one was dining in. Not sure if its even open for dine in. They also do not deliver.

Anyway like I said I probably wont visit often and if anything changes in my future orders I will update!!

I’ve been frequenting Dragon City for years, since I was a kid and now still as an adult. It’s a small, locally owned Chinese Restaurant, the food seems to be always ready within 15-20 minutes, it’s always fresh, hot, and tasty and the portions are generous at the price point. I’ve had and enjoyed their Sweet and Sour Chicken, their Beef, Chicken, and Veggie Lo Mein, their Chicken Fried Rice, their pork egg roll, veggie rolls, boneless spare ribs, crab rangoons. The list goes on, and I’ve yet to try anything from them that I haven’t enjoyed.

The best Chinese-American carryout in the area. Good food, large portions, friendly owners, and they often have random trinkets for sale on a table near the counter. Our family loves their sesame chicken, orange chicken, and kung pao chicken (extra spicy).

Our new BEST Chinese food takeout place located in Verona, WI, but less than 15 minutes from the west side of Madison. Small place, but does have a few tables if you choose to dine in. But the takeout is hot, filled to the brim and super tasty. We liked the General Tso Chicken. Standard fare at most chinese food places, but we really liked the chicken, better than most. Szechuan mixed vegetables is excellent. Just the right amount of spice. We also liked the noodles, Lo Mein and the Chow Mei Fun. Definitely will be back!!

Dragon City was walking distance from hotel, and craving Chinese I gave it a try. Small restaurant in a small mall. Walking in, you see typical stuff you see in most restaurants of the kind. Lots of plants, hanging lanterns, etc.

There is a sitting area, but it is behind a table setup to block access. When asking about dine in options, there was a hesitant, I could but it would be in take out container. No worries, asked for it to go. Ordered Szechuan Beef and Fried Rice. received order in about 10 minutes, while waiting in the sitting area. Kitchen is in full view so no surprises.

Meal came in plastic lock lid container, and included a spring/egg roll. Not really sure which it was, as the contents were not quite defined, and more of a puree. The beef was listed as spicy, and though is had some accented flavor, I would not consider it spicy. It was made with a gravy which which was more like a roast beef gravy than what I have typically had with this dish. That being said it was good, with the beef and vegetables cooked nicely with some crispness still in the vegetables. The rice was pork fried rice, and it was decent.

The meal was good for the value, though I was looking for a sit down place to relax. The staff were nice enough, though not overtly friendly. The place was not dirty, just messy with lots of nick knacks.

It was good, and knowing what to expect, I would have no problem planning to pick up and take out, the next time I may be in town.

One star is the minimum. If I could rate less I would. Food was a few dollars more than what was represented on the Facebook page. I ordered sesame chicken. The sauce was tasty. The rest was disappointing. After a couple of bites, I realized I didn’t taste much chicken. So, I started opening up each of the breaded bits to see how much chicken was actually in each one. For my $12.xx I received a handful of broccoli florets, approximately 2oz of chicken and the rest was breading and sauce. To show how little chicken was actually in the dish, I took a photo of the leftover breading. That photo is ALL BREADING. I also ordered LoMein. There were a handful of veggies and 95% noodles. I have been in town For the past week and a half completing training at Epic. I ordered from Chang Jiang last week. It was pretty good. I wish I had repeated that order instead of trying a new place.

Got a lunch special chicken Lo Mein. Generous serving and came with a pork/egg roll.

I wasn’t a fan of the Lo Mein unfortunately, but I think the overall speed of service, portion sizes, and reasonable prices help balance things out somewhat.

The staff greeted me in a welcoming and friendly manner. There were chairs to sit on while waiting for the order to complete. Be aware that seating for dine-in does not appear to be an option, at least during lunch hours.

This has been my families favorite place to get Chinese food since 2020. The food is always on time, always hot, and always tastes delicious!

In an era of online ordering and everything being digitized, I still consistently get the best, quickest, and easiest service calling into Dragon City. Like, I’ve timed it before and I’ve had calls for 4+ people that last under 45 seconds. Every order is accurate and absolutely packed to the brim with food.

Ordered for the first time on Saturday. We had the General Tso’s Chicken, House Special Mei Fun, Sweet and Sour Chicken for the kids, crab rangoons and each one of their egg rolls they offer. Everything was made fresh and had great flavor. Wasn’t a huge fan of the spring rolls or chicken egg roll, but the pork egg roll was great. Will definitely be back!
