We’ve ordered catering from Dozo three times now and they’ve been very timely and easy to work with. The prices are good and my guests have been happy with the sushi. We also requested one of their sushi chefs to give a demonstration and it went over quite well.

The food was excellent all around with several vegetarian options which is good because several of my family are vegetarian. The sushi deluxe platter was top notch. One of the managers comped us a new dish crab jalapeno Rangoon with strawberry mango sauce (very interesting and delicious!) I wish this restaurant all the success in the world!

Overall, not the best sushi I’ve had. Went for “happy hour” and received no discount on sushi or rolls that were ordered. Both Tempura and fried rolls were mediocre and not sizable. Sushi (both nigiri and sashimi) were portioned irregularly. Quality of the fish was good, which is what brought up my food score to a “good”. Nice decor and patient wait staff. Ultimately, not the best for those seeking authentic sushi.

I have been to Dozo several times– most often with my little boys. They have always been very accommodating to the children (who LOVE their food) and we have always enjoyed our meals.
Today I ran in for a quick take-away lunch and when I arrived back to my office and opened the boxes they were so beautifully made and fresh and delicious. I love eating in the restaurant, but this was the best meal they have prepared for me. Absolutely perfect on such a stressful day! Thank you Dozo!!!

Dozo is good, but not great. I will start by saying I love sushi and Sashimi. I have eaten it all over America and at some of the best of the best like Koi, Nobu, and Roku in various cities like Vegas and NYC. Ok, that said this IS Lincoln Nebraska people and we are not going to get one of those. Ever. So, let’s compare the 3 downtown Sushi places. I give this place 3/5 because it is good, but not great. The selection is good, and the drink and menu is diverse so that’s a plus. The sashimi is usually good but I did have one order of tuna that clearly was cut across the grain not with the lines which results in a tough piece to chew. A no-no in sushi preperation. The service is also a little lacking. When I asked my server a series of questions I quickly could tell either they are new, didn’t care or didn’t like sushi/sashimi. It’s the finer points like how fresh is the fish, where was it caught, and which rolls have the right balance of salt, sweet, and/or heat that elevates you to 5 stars. Downtown also has Hiro88 and Blue, both of which are a solid 4-4.5 star sushi place for Lincoln. I do like the happy hour prices at Dozo and the drinks seem imaginative and quirky which is a plus. Overall I would say if you are serious about Sushi try all 3 downtown Sushi places a few times with friends, order a diverse selection of Sashimi and Sushi and judge for yourself. And be brave if you are a little scared of raw fish Sashimi. Sushi grade fish like Sashimi Tuna is just as safe as any other protien and tastes better then Filet Minion that’s cooked to a perfect Medium Rare. Trust me, you might have found one of the greatest food your mouth will ever eat .

I have had great sushi here and sub par sushi it seems to depend on who is making it or maybe the freshness of the fish. Service has always been very good.

Very good sushi in a hip part of town. Great happy hour specials on drinks and sushi. Really nice atmosphere inside and outdoor seating is available when the weather is nice.

Horrible service. The woman owner was so rude!!!! I heard they serve dolphin. I will never go back there. Probably the worst place in Lincoln to eat. Soooooooo N-A-S-T-Y! You may get sick from eating there. Germs everywhere! D:

Pretty good food. Thwle waiter www fast with our reinos and the place was super clean. The portions are pretty good, and fue sweet red bean ice cream was amazona! Great place for date night or just a good time out.
