Went for dinner on 1/6/26. I had the garlic pub burger with sweet potato fries. That was by far the BEST burger I ever had. The sweet potato fries were amazing, something you can’t find everywhere. And the staff were very friendly and accommodating. I think it will be my new hangout spot.

I was visiting Baraboo for the day and decided to look for a dive bar to eat at. I’m so glad this is the bar i chose from my options off google! I had the best experience. All the bartenders were so nice and welcoming. Plus the food was amazing!! In the future i will definitely be back.

I stopped in to use the restroom and get a drink after work now I’m a machine and just got off work. So I was still in work closes and stopped in the bathroom before getting a drink. And as I used the facility. The intoxicated bar tender pounded on the door yelling we don’t allow scrubs in hear. So after I was finished I no longer wanted to eat or drink her so I went to leave and the bar tender sed I had to give her 5 10 dollars for using the bathroom and I was no longer allowed. I told her the only reason I’m leaving is cuz I was disrespected the second I came in to the bar she sed she was calling the cops and having me arrested for trespassing. I told her she just kicked me out and I was leaving. She sed ya well I kick u out last week and u know your not aloud hear I told her it’s my first time in hear. A customer at the bar sed I was hear when she kicked u out. And she laughed and sed how do u like that. And stated ” so pay me 20 dollars for my services or I’ll have u put in jail…. I’ve never bin so disrespected in a public place by the employees and I couldn’t believe how that extorted money out of me and band me from the bar for not being a customer I had full intent to order food and buy a couple drinks intell I was extorted for money and disrespected the second i walked in the bar. Do not recommend this facility to anyone

Bloody Mary’s are excellent, Burgers were outstanding, fries and tator tots done to perfection. Great find traveling through Baraboo… A Wisconsin gem for sure. We will be stopping here again for sure….

There’s nothing like a great burger and if that’s what you’re craving, the Downtowner is the place to go! I try a different type of burger each time I go there and I’ve never been disappointed. This one was a pepper cheese burger. They use the highest quality meat available and they’ll cook it to order. I had the “tots” and they were hot, crispy and well seasoned. I also had a whiskey old fashioned which was outstanding. Can’t beat the prices either. A great way to treat yourself in a true Wisconsin tavern environment.
