I had a fantastic dining experience at Downtown Village! From the moment we walked in, the staff was warm and welcoming. The ambiance was cozy yet vibrant, making it perfect for both a casual outing or a special celebration.
The food was absolutely delicious — every dish was thoughtfully prepared, beautifully presented, and bursting with flavor. Special shoutout to Mango mint Mully drink— it was hands down the highlight of the drink.
Service was prompt and attentive without being intrusive. You can tell the team truly cares about the guest experience.
Highly recommend to anyone looking for great food, excellent service, and a memorable time. Can’t wait to return!

My review of this restaurant is slightly biased since I’m Indian and have the best food cooked for me regularly by my mother and grandmother. That being said, their food was impressive. They had good options, and their ingredients were good quality. The washrooms lacked decor especially compared to the rest of their decor and their Naan doesn’t seem like it’s truly made in clay ovens. Overall, it was a decent experience.

Just visited this afternoon and have to say it’s the best Indian food I’ve had in Halifax! They also have the BEST service – thank you to our server Sam! He was very helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly. Even the restaurant manager came by to check on us and personally thank us for giving the restaurant a try which was a very nice touch, as management at most other places don’t do this. We had a great chat with the manager and got to learn a lot about this new restaurant. Wonderful and amazing hospitality! The food was definitely authentic tasting and arrived very quickly after we ordered. The portion sizes and prices were great too. The interior decor is quite beautiful and elegant. The cherry on top at the end of our visit was that our server gave us a free gift to take home as a thank you! We will definitely come back soon and highly recommend it to everyone!!!

Everything in food was good, but I hear I would like to comment about a lady server who works over there. Her name is AKRITI. She was so rude while serving the food and also within first few minutes I could figure out from her face that she doesn’t like her Job, but she’s doing that only for money. Well when it comes to Job, I also don’t like my job but if I am doing it so I’ll do it properly. So what my point is if I if you’re doing a job which you don’t like but still you need to do it more properly or otherwise don’t do it at all. It was my first time in that restaurant and I asked few questions regarding servings and she got frustrated on that. She was literally slamming plates on the table while serving it. She needs to learn more professional behaviour when it comes to customer service and also she needs to understand how to treat customers and how to be respectful with them. Making faces in front of them and slamming their plates is not way to behave. I would rather go to the restaurant which has a bit less taste but more generous and good people around. Me and my wife felt that we were forced to leave the restaurant from her behaviour. Disappointed with customer service.

Visited with family to have dinner here, and we liked the food. Ordered noodles, fries, and chicken biryani. Fries – nothing exciting. But noodles and biryani were amazing. After a long time, I had good biryani in town (felt quantity was a bit less, but can adjust to experience the taste). Kudos.

Recommended for dinner is Hyderabadi Dum Biryani delicious for starters Nizami murg darbari and burnt chilli Garlic fish amazing.I could have ordered at least 6 items on the menu.
