Mane, I have been visiting Downtown Drafts for years… probably before the craft beer boom, like the beginnings of Cherry Street & Akademia. However, I never wrote a review because I took it for granted. Well, this review is to the owners of cool ass spot for ALL… yeah all. I watched May 1 from Cotto Italian restaurant and the crowd was hyped, eclectic, diverse and having a great time. Wow!! It was so nice to observe.
Yet, my real props is to how they handled and survived the pandemic. They kept the main thing , the main thing and never wavered. They stuck with craft beers, sours, wines, and added their version of mix drinks. Well done!
With that, I would highly recommend Downtown Drafts in Gainesville for good brew experience. If you are an old timer like me, I would get there early, maybe 4-6 because Gen Z and the Millennials love this spot after dark.

It’s safe to say that Downtown Drafts has become a Gainesville staple. A nice place to go either after work to wet your whistle or hang out with friends old and new. Depending on the season, they come up with interesting drinks to attract more people like popsicles in sangria during the summer or adult hot chocolate during the winter. It is as it advertises a community taproom with many different types of beers on tap and you are bound to run into someone you know. Overall a great hometown establishment.

What’s not to love about beer and dogs?? Mutts on Main was a blast and the beers and Mimosas were great! We grabbed the best seat on the sidewalk and stayed all day.
Love this place every time I go there!

Cut off my entire group because my one friend “stumbled” once and we were there from early afternoon into late afternoon. Apparently at the owners discretion. Left to Honky Tonk and continued to be served for hours so doesn’t quite add up.

There’s a reason Drafts has consistently won best in Hall. It simply is the best community watering hole, with the best bartenders, owners and regular patrons. Think Cheers with an alternative paint job. They also host the best events throughout the year and the Halloween Party is epic.

It’s a taproom with dozens of beers. If that’s your thing, this is your place. What’s not to like? Great atmosphere, fun crowd, excellent selection of beer (and wine), and even the option of taking your brew to go and walking down the sidewalk or sitting in the park. There’s literally no reason why you shouldn’t check this place out. You’ll be glad you did.

Respectable variety and quality of drafts. Pity they lack a kitchen. Very serious on drink restrictions (was banned from going to my 6th pint). Probably on summer is wildly crowded, but not that night.

Absolutely love this hometown gem! It’s the kind of bar where you see all kinds of people, and everyone feels welcome. The atmosphere is friendly, relaxed, and perfect whether you’re stopping by for one drink or staying for five. There’s always a good vibe with plenty of games to play, making it a great spot to hang out with friends or meet new ones. Definitely a go-to place for a laid-back night out!

This place is a great place to try new beer, you can buy a flight or a half pint and then get a growler to go. The staff is super knowledgeable and love beer too so they can help you find beer that suit your palate. Downtown drafts also has more of a meeting place feel not a bar so don’t be intimidated about going in you will meet all types here and probably make some new friends.
