Great Authentic Indian Food, Upscale decor, great customer service, Generous portions and Great Price.

Although I sound like I’m making an advertisement for them but this is how I actually felt while I was dining over there.

Definitely coming back again

One of my favorite chains ever! They have such a great selection and I really enjoyed how quickly the food was brought out, even though it had finished in their buffet, everyone is polite and it is very efficient!

Outstanding authentic Indian cuisine. The food and service were amazing. The taste and spices were robust. Atmosphere is lovely and the table attendance was great. Would highly recommend for anyone that is looking to try Indian cuisine or is already a huge fan

Indian cuisine located in the heart of the downtown business district adjacent to a public parking lot.

Environment/Ambiance- I must say the decor and upper scale and modern chic look is what sells the place for me. Love the dark tones theme and elements which tries to tie everything together. The chairs are one thing that is conspicuously off and a mismatch. They need to replace them. Simple and minimalist clean look.

Service- I was welcomed by the manager and he seemed friendly. He asked one of his waiters to seat me. I had recognized the waiter from another restaurant he had worked at earlier. He recognized me as well. Once I told the manager and staff that I am a foodie and informal and unofficial reviewer, they seemed a bit standoffish, reserved at first. Once I showed them my pics and other reviews they warmed up. Overall, the staff and manager were professional and glad to assist the customers.

Food-

Pakora was okay and “standard issue,” flavor and consistency.

The fried okra was heightened to tastier and visually appealing levels.

The grilled Tandoori wings were “meh”…nothing distinctive and marinated with too much pepper.

The Tandoori Tiger Prawns were good, and could have been a meal on its own. This was the best of all the dishes I tasted here.

Tandoori nan with dried raisins was moist and soft and balanced out the heat and spices of the tandoori BBQ prawns and lamb curry.

The lamb curry dish tasted like a hack job. They bought out the dish even before I had barely finished ordering the dish. The gravy was too watery and I was told that it was a popular dish.

They don’t have many choices for end-of-meal treats. I chose the standard Ras Malai. It tasted “standard” and lacked the richness and “decadence”.

The menu was basic and all too familiar “usual suspects” dishes. They could have added some distinctive and unique “only here” dishes. The team could also work on their food presentation and visual appeal factor. They should take a page from Junoon (high-end and upscale Indian restaurant in Manhattan) and raise the bar in several categories of assessment.

Buffet is BACK!

We went to DD first time after the pandemic started, and were so happy to see they had their buffet section back for weekends lunch.

Their buffet items were top notch, everything tasted delicious. They had chicken biryani, smashed egg plant, paneer tikka masala, fish, lamb , chicken tikka masala and tandoori chicken. Items were cooked fresh and kept warm.

Really glad to see DD survived through the pandemic, and getting back to its old groove. Will a regular here to whenever I need to calm my Indian food desires.

I would give this restaurant 3 stars. I know it’s awarded as #1 in Bergen county, but it’s not good enough for 5 stars. Prices are very expensive like NYC restaurants with each curries being $20. Appetizers are more flavorful as compared to the mains. We ordered onion pakora, Gobi Manchurian which were good. Ordered mango lassi, saag and paneer Tikka. Paneer Tikka barely had paneer pieces.

Service is very slow. Restaurant is clean and modern, but very pricey for the quality.

I visited this restaurant on a weekend for their lunch buffet.. The food and service was great! Their kheer in the end spoilt the moment though. Was cold and frozen. Otherwise it was a great meal

Very nice Indian food and worth a try! I’ve eaten from this restaurant a few times via takeout and thought we’d give it a go at the restaurant. The food is always good (albeit a bit pricey) and this occasion was no different. The Dhaba curry is always tasty and has plenty of chicken and the tandoori chicken was delicious – the spices were very flavorful.
The service was good, although the first thing the server said to us on entering was, “do we know that they shut in an hour?”. We did, but it made us feel unwelcome and rushed from the outset. After that she was very pleasant, but I don’t know why you’d say that so far from the time of closing! Completely unnecessary!
