I’m honestly surprised this spot didn’t pop up in my initial searches! We ended up here on a recommendation for a New Year’s Day family dinner, and it turned out to be a fantastic find. The atmosphere is spot on—the music is soft enough for easy family conversation but still maintains a great vibe.
Drinks & Starters
We started with the Whiskey Colada, which was light and refreshing. The roasted coconut rim provided a unique, smoky distinction that really elevated the drink. For an appetizer, we tried the Crab Dip. While the dip itself was a bit mild for my personal taste, the pairing with thin-sliced, ultra-crispy bruschetta was a perfect textural match.
The Standout Entrees
The absolute highlight of the night was the Mad Hatcher’s Chicken. It was cooked to perfection—tender and juicy—but the real stars were the layers of flavor provided by the squash and the seasoned rice. It’s a very thoughtful, interesting dish.
We also tried the Bouillabaisse, which is a “must-order” if you are a seafood lover. The broth was rich, and the flavors were incredibly deep and authentic.
The Grand Finale
We wrapped up the evening with the Key Lime Mousse. It was the perfect palate cleanser—light, airy, and just the right amount of tartness to end a rich meal.
The hibiscus bloom ginger mocktail was a nice balance of sweet and ginger, the clam chowder and the crab tots were bother very good.
I originally got the Butternut Squash risotto. It was well plated but very bland. I then got the Mat Hatcher Chicken which was full of flavor!
Staff were a good balance of warm, kind, and professional.
We got a table with a beautiful view of the harbor, which made the experience even more special. The ambience was calm and scenic, perfect for relaxing after a ferry ride. The staff was welcoming and attentive, making sure everything went smoothly throughout our meal.
We tried a mix of dishes — Chicken Sandwich, Salad, and a few Seafood Platters. Everything tasted fresh and flavorful, but my personal favorite was definitely the Chicken Sandwich — cooked perfectly and full of flavor.
Overall, a wonderful spot with great food, friendly service, and stunning views. A must-visit if you’re in Friday Harbor and want to enjoy a delicious meal by the water.
Must-try: Chicken Sandwich | View: 10/10
The flavor was superb. My whole body savored the meal. It’s the just right you search for.
We chose to sit outdoors and were lucky to have such beautiful weather over the weekend. The only downside was the lack of shade in our seating area. I ended up wearing my sunglasses throughout lunch!
The small plates, especially the clams and mussels, were incredibly delicious and honestly exceeded our expectations. Maybe we were just really hungry, but we devoured both dishes in no time and agreed they were packed with flavor.
I absolutely loved the citrus mocktail! It was refreshingly light and the perfect drink for a warm summer day.
It was also my first time trying fish and chips made with halibut, and I was pleasantly surprised by how tender and delicate the texture was compared to the usual kind.
The salmon sandwich was another unexpected hit. The sauce was flavorful, but the highlight for me was the bread, crispy on the outside, soft and fluffy inside. It made the whole sandwich feel extra special
