Ordered take out from here. It was pretty decent. I had the catfish. I would definitely recommend that. It was fried to perfection and not too salty.
My husband and Son had a lemon pepper wings, a burger, quesadilla, and fries .. They said that their food was good.

I was most impressed by the service.
We ordered our food through DoorDash and then walked to the establishment. By the time we got there, DoorDash canceled our order. The person working at the establishment was so accommodating, she apologized for the inconvenience, took our order and also gave us something for our troubles.
She was very thoughtful and exemplified wonderful customer service. That’s what I truly look for in a great establishment.
Thank you for your thoughtfulness !

Quaint dive bar with a good variety of choices on the menu. I ordered a patty melt that was grilled perfectly. The burger was charbroiled and well done like I like it. My only complaint was the burger was a lil salty. The steak fries were crispy and good. Nice portion size for lunch. I ordered the bread pudding to go. The bread pudding was not that great. My son had the gator sausage Po boy which he said was pretty good as well.

We were looking for something to eat after midnight. We tried a different bar up the street, but it didn’t offer much. We’ve been here before and it didn’t disappoint. We had mozzerella sticks as a starter, but we were too hungry to grab a photo. Lemon pepper wings with blue cheese dressing were delicious. The seasoning had a slight orange zest flavor to it. Husband had the Texan burger with a side of sweet potato fries (a few were al dente, but good overall). We had a small incident with our drinks, nothing to fuss over. The syrup in the Coca-cola was going out, the bartender quickly took care of it.

Been twice now. Burgers are fantastic, huge, and juicy! Love the wings as well. John was the bartender at our most recent visit. Our drinks were always full and we loved the more “retro” music in the background. Price is very reasonable. Parking is on the street. There is a bar, but as we don’t partake of alcohol, I have no details. Will be back when the burger craves hit again!

The Down the Hatch Burger is my favorite burger in NOLA!! The staff is always friendly and the service is great. The atmosphere is very relaxed and you’re literally less than a block from Magazine St (if you want to check out some local shops and boutiques).

Fabulous place. The barmaid Civa was very helpful helping me choose gluten free vegetarian food. A valuable member of staff. Great atmosphere. We ate in the patio which was very nice with lots of trees and plants to sit amongst. My nachos were very tasty and GLUTEN FREE.

This has to be some type of sick joke. 3 teeny tiny pieces of fish. Not even Full pieces of thin catfish. It’s like they cut one fish up into 4 small pieces. Wow I have supported this place for about two years. I send all my hotel guest there but guess what I won’t anymore !!!! This is almost comical I would laugh if I wasn’t on the verge of crying !!! I don’t play like that with my money or food. !!!! The fish is all I order from here because I don’t eat land meat. This is crazy and a rip off. 17$ for this??????? If yall don’t even enough fish to make my order should have never accepted my order and money. I order door dash and if I was not at work I would have shown up and demanded a manager !!!!!!!! You couldn’t pay me to recommended them very disappointed . Glad door dash gave me my money back but the restaurant didn’t lose anything they still have my money for a meal worth $5!!!!!

This restaurant came highly recommended but would never recommend it to anyone else. Maybe they were just having a bad day. No one really working, it was very cold atmosphere from staff. When I told them about a food issue that could not be eaten, their response was ok, and I still got charged for the item even those it was not eatable. Forgot to take pictures due to be upset about the employee’s response to our issue.

11/10/25, approximately, 6:30 pm walked in and was greeted by a drunk bartender. Ordered a Coke and a cocktail. Also said we wanted food. & water, which we never got. The bartop was dirty, too. Another bartender, who seemed new was also present. We asked to order food more than once & the 1st one kept acknowledging that, but literally snatched the menus from us at one point & said she was cashing out. 25 minutes later 2 new customers walked up to the bar we had been sitting at like invisible idiots. They were given menus & ordered food right away, right in front of us. Still being ignored completely. We had debated being patient & asking yet again for service, but I was over it & my husband said he didn’t wanna spend a penny more than his single cocktail. Which was poorly made by the 1st girl. I left & apparently my husband cashed out & yelled at the girls, upsetting the 2nd “new” girl. It was totally the original bartender who was awful. It was disappointing. She sucked. Currently enjoying a delicious PoBoy at another local establishment.
