Was craving some good bbq but didn’t wanna drive to downtown. Ordered a chopped brisket sandwich with a brisket slice on the side. When I say this food was BUSSIN. Smokey flavor, seasoned perfect.

Had the pulled pork sandwich and it is BY FAR the best I’ve ever had. The meat was wonderful and not completely soaked in sauce. Really nice owner, very friendly and happy to be there. Would recommend to everyone looking for some good meat!

2nd time at Down South TX BBQ- 1st time was amazing, but my husband says consistency is key… and they did not disappoint. Brisket was moist and flavorful, and the beef rib is still the best I’ve had. Seasoned well with just the right amount of smoke. Mac &cheese and coleslaw were on point. While I thought the collard greens were a bit too salty for my palette, my husband insists they were amazing. Friendly and helpful staff- we highly recommend this gem.

Down South Barbecue is the real deal. I had the brisket, smoked mac and cheese, and a hot link—and everything was absolutely delicious. The brisket was perfectly moist and packed with flavor, the hot link had just the right kick, and the smoked mac and cheese was out-of-this-world good. That smoky flavor really shines through in every bite. You can tell this food is made with care and skill. I’ll definitely be back!

I placed a catering order here for a holiday party. Portions were generous and food was absolutely delicious. The brisket and pulled pork were seasoned and cooked perfectly. Everyone kept commenting on how great the mac n cheese was. Beans weren’t the usual ranch style but more true bbq beans. And I’m not usually a fan of green beans but I was going in for seconds. Highly recommend this place for some amazing BBQ

Everything looked so good! I got it all and I’m glad I did! I was drawn in by their *special* brisket chili! Amazing for a cold winter day! Layers of flavor with melt in your mouth brisket! As I was waiting for my family to come home to eat, I snacked and took a bite of each dish! I’m normally not a fan of smoked turkey… this was the exception. Flavorful moist and well seasoned. The Mac was creamy and the greens hit the spot. Don’t forget the sausage: just the right amount of heat. Rico was a pleasure and I’ll definitely be back again. 100% recommend. Def give this place a try! Great portions. Great prices and exceptional service. I just had to give them their flowers!

This place has some great BBQ. Been in Austin for 6 months and tried all the big names around and Down South holds their own and then some. The beef rib was amazing. My wife typically sticks to brisket but this was a rare time she actually preferred the rib. Not to take anything away from the brisket. It was juicy and moist with an amazing smoke flavor. This reminded of down-home backyard BBQ done on an expert level. The potato salad was unique-different than what we were used but crisp and fresh tasting. Wish I had tried the Mac and greens, but just more reason to go back soon. Highly reccomended.
