Great location in downtown Louisville and we were fortunate that we had good weather the patio was open and we were able to sit there because it’s a nice place. The service was great and we had our dog (we knew the place was Fido-friendly) and they even brought a water bowl for him. We had appetizers and drinks, which came quickly. I was impressed by the serving size of the cheese curds-big-and the twist seasoning on the chips for my guac. I enjoyed the atmosphere of the patio and I would go back again for sure.

First of all, we moved our seats twice because they kept putting us at a drafty table on the enclosed patio slab. Once hypothermia set in and we couldn’t feel our legs, we were solid. You can’t beat the happy hour prices, but you’re lucky to see your drink or appetizer within that 2 hour window of ordering, so good luck ordering round 2. I don’t blame our waiter. I blame understaffing and poor management. It’s game day at Yum and the place was packed, but only 2 guys on tables?? The fish sandwich had maybe 4 small “nuggets” on it…much, much more bun than protein. There were 7 people in our group, and none of us got our food at the same time, so we each ate separately….together. The margs are decent and the cheese curds at happy hour price are I had high hopes, but I’m not sure we’ll be back, unfortunately.

Unique delicious food and knowledgeable bartending make Down One the place to down more than one and fill your tank. Bartender Robynn set me up with a flight of whiskies I’d never tried before, and our party of three devoured the Tacos Grandes (El Classico and El Jeffe) and the house-made guacamole and chips took the edge off during our short wait. The location makes a nice getaway from the cheerful bustle of whiskey row. The shredded beef barbacoa in my El Jeffe was amazing and unlike anything I’ve had before. You can’t go wrong with the food or drinks at Down One.

Most awesome hidden bar. Staff was beyond friendly and amazing. The bar food was all massive amounts of food for the $$$, and the bourbon selection is crazy. The unicorn bottles are much cheaper here to try than other places around as well. Flights are good priced and the flight designs are pretty unique as well. Overall a definite place to try on your trip to Nashville.
