Ate here today for the first time in a few years. I remember this place and the food being wonderful. Today it was not!! You may not be able to tell from the photo, but under the ribs are brisket and sausage. Everything is drowned in the same sauce and it’s all cold. The Mac and cheese is plain, no seasoning, and seems boxed. The beans are stewing in so much juice, and the flavor is terrible. Lastly, the potato salad is so tangy. It has all been thrown into the trash. So disappointing. Are they under new management or something? We will not be going back.

The rib tips were good and the potato salad was decent. But the Mac and Cheese was inedible as well as the Mush called peach cobbler. Would not recommend this place to anyone, especially for the price I paid disappointed.

WORST we have ever had. Where is the health department?
We just dumped it in the trash. The Brisket and cornbread both tasted like they had rancid oil on them (not butter on the cornbread). How is this place open?
My husband got Curry chicken on rice. It didn’t taste like Curry. There was a clump of rock-hard rice, and the veggies were soggy. He didn’t bother tasting the chicken for fear of getting sick.
We literally took one bite of each dish and tossed it. READ THE RECENT REVIEWS. We wish we did before wasting our money. Nasty!

Look at the recent reviews before you go to this restaurant. It seems like this restaurant may have been good at one point, but it’s pretty awful now. We made the mistake of trying this restaurant just based on the overall 4 star average. However, I truly believe this place needs to be shut down. The whole group I ate with got sick from the food.

Pros: fried okra was pretty good, sweet tea is good, waffle was fine, restaurant atmosphere was nice.

Cons: we were served raw chicken, the oil our food was fried in was obviously old and left a very bad taste in the mouth, corn bread was awful almost like they forgot an ingredient, Mac & cheese was microwave food, coleslaw was unseasoned, meat was poor quality and completely soaked in sauce, everyone in my group of 3 got sick after eating, extremely overpriced.

I was told this place was excellent, so my wife and I ventured down to find out for ourselves. This night there was an Hispanic fellow there manning the BBQ. Honestly I was expecting a big black dude named bubba; we placed our order & surprised again this guy starting cooking and not heating up in some microwave. The portions were very sizable, the wait was far less than I expected and the food was amazing!!! My wife and I have been back 3 times since then and each tine we have not been disappointed. We returned once during the day and the owners sister was back there w/ a couple of other cooks and we had to let her know about the awesomeness of their Hispanic gem along with the rest of their staff. Keep up the good work you have very happy customers.

Just left this establishment. I gave it an honest chance even after the lady taking the order was rude for no reason. Ended up getting beef/broccoli, catfish and a side of hush puppies (extra $3). Catfish was decent but had an odd smell…even for fish. Beef and broccoli was sad (the beef was extremely thin and EXTREMELY dry and smelled a little spoiled). The part that really irritates me is that the hush puppies (which she made sure to tell me I had to pay extra to get those as a side) were literally hard as rock and burnt.

I came here several years ago and it was perfect…not sure what happened but customer service and properly cooked food is not too much to ask for. I came when they first opened for lunch and there was nobody else there. So there was no rush…not busy…no reason to have such a nasty attitude and nasty food…especially right outside of the base smh.

The brisket came very thinly sliced and absolutely covered in sauce. If I had known, I would of ordered anything else.

The potato salad is fair.

Establishment has plenty of seating for the size.

(Had to edit, changed review to 1 star. They charged me for the same meal, twice, at 39.13. The lady told me the first charge did not go through, which, clearly was a lie.)

I ordered a short rack of BBQ ribs. I’m unsure what the sauce was but it wasn’t BBQ! The meat was old, dried out, and you had to fight to get it off the huge bones! I’ll try it again before I write this place off for good.

This place is by far the worst BBQ experience I’ve ever had. They cut the brisket with the grain, rendering it inedible because it was so chewy. To make it worse, it was sliced thinly like deli meat and covered it in a disgusting bbq sauce. I’m almost certain the Mac-n-cheese was some rendition of boxed Mac-n-cheese with absolutely no seasoning at all. Icing on the cake was yesterday’s stale jalapeño cornbread that was so dry I was forced to drink my entire fountain drink to wash down a single bite. I wouldn’t wish this place on my worst enemies. It was so bad, it was almost comical…I thought I was being punk’d for a minute. I kept waiting for Ashton Kutcher to come creeping out from the kitchen. I ended up trashing the entire plate, minus the one bite of each item I took. Just go across the street to 143 Street Tacos, they at least know how to cook.

We came here upon recommendation from someone, and I don’t know what went wrong. It was microwaved after we ordered, and you could definitely tell. We should’ve known right then to leave. The ribs, brisket, the potato salad, and Mac and cheese were absolutely terrible. I think these reviews must be artificially altered because this was not anywhere near 4.5 star food.
