I’ve been wanting to try dove tail pizza in Austin forever!
The apps, the mocktails, the pizza, the fries, the chimichurri, the chili oil it’s all a must!!!!! The pizza is big enough to share for two.
We didn’t wait to sit down long. Service was fast and The food was fresh. It’s definitely family friendly or date night friendly!

Been driving past this place for a while and finally decided to give it a shot for lunch. We started with the fried olives (so good) and then shared the prime rib pizza. The pizza was great – thin and crispy crust and the toppings all came together really well. I usually always like red sauce on my pizza and this one doesn’t have that as the base but I asked for a side of their marinara which was a solid red sauce and really elevated the pizza for me.
They have great cocktails and a cute vibe – recommend giving this place a try!

Meat pizza was really good! Crispy, foldable crust, just enough sauce to not overpower the toppings, fresh grated parm on top

We ordered the Caesar Salad with Chicken, Fried Calamari, and the Prime Rib Pizza. Overall, it’s a solid restaurant. Nothing mind-blowing, but we had a good meal. The Caesar Salad was good—just the right amount of dressing and Parmesan, and I loved the mushrooms in it. The calamari was okay, but the fried lemon and onion that came with it were a bit odd for my taste. I did like the generous amount of arugula, though. The Prime Rib Pizza was delicious, but definitely not the typical one. If you like arugula, you’ll probably enjoy this one. The pizza had a little kick, and the meat in it was super tender.

On our second visit to Dovetail Pizza, we knew exactly what we were coming back for—the Prime Rib Pizza. And once again, it did not disappoint! The crust was perfectly crisp, the prime rib was incredibly tender, and the flavors were just spot on.
We also ordered the Wedge Salad, which was fresh and had the perfect balance of crisp lettuce and creamy dressing. The Corn Fried Calamari was a standout appetizer—light, crispy, with greens, making it a unique take on a classic dish. The Fried Shrimp Alfredo was rich and flavorful, with a perfectly creamy sauce that wasn’t too heavy.
Dovetail Pizza continues to impress, and after this second visit, we’re sure it won’t be our last!

Driving around looking for a place that wasn’t packed to eat on drop off day for UT Spring. The parking lot was full, lots of people at the place next door though I think because we were a little surprised at how cute Dovetail was and how good the pizza was for it to be mostly empty. It’s adorable. The pizza tasted super fresh, tasted great and the drinks were cold. The service was attentive but not in your face. The menu is definitely more on the grown up side, but we got a standard pepperoni and it was perfect.
Note on parking: we did not examine all parking. Like I said, I think where we parked was free for Dovetail, but not if you were going next door. The lot is tight so if you can’t drive, maybe figure out somewhere else to park.

They had me at fried olives and they did not disappoint! The shrimp Alfredo was yummy and had a good amount of sauce. The prime rib pizza was really good. Their homemade sesame chili oil was addictive. Great cocktail options too!

I highly rate Dovetail as one of my favorite and go to restaurants. I really appreciate the kind staff, the atmosphere, and food are all standout. My greatest kudos is how often I’ve dined here. I highly recommendation to others. My favorite items are the sandwiches with fries served during lunch only. The pizzas or spaghetti meatball for dinner. They have good beer and wine choices as well.

The pizza was so good! The crust was amazing and we got the hot honey on the side. It was some of the best hot honey I had had! We also got the buffalo wings which were amazing (coming from avid wing lovers) and the fried olives (unique and pretty good). We 100% will be back for a nice date night
