We made reservation a few days before Valentine’s Day. Our server Erika was attentive and helpful with suggestions. The filet was the best I’ve ever had, like beef candy that melts in your mouth. The put-ups were good but had more rolls than pastes and spreads. Drink menu had me wanting to try one of each but had to drive. If the desserts were served first I wouldn’t have eaten anything else. The cracked pie and orange buttermilk were addictive. So much so we went back a few nights later on Valentine’s night and ordered desserts to go. Definitely will be returning again for special date nights. I was so focused on eating filet I forgot to take a picture but plating and presentation for all the dishes were very professional as in pictures. Thanks for a memorable date night.

If I could vote 10 stars I would !
The food was definitely delicious, on the pricey side but absolutely amazing!!!!
Atmosphere was definitely nice, a bit upscale but not super over the top upscale.
Now on to the service !!!!!!!!
We did have a reservation set for our anniversary. From the moment we entered, we were greeted with the warmest welcome!
They asked our name, and actually read the comments that I put online regarding our anniversary. I thought that was super thoughtful to actually acknowledge our anniversary. I’ve done that at other restaurants in the past and we weren’t acknowledged. From the hostess, to our wonder waitress Trinity, to the waiter that helped bring out the food, to the gentleman that I believe was the manager, literally EVERYONE ON STAFF WAS AMAZING !!!
We are beyond thankful for a wonderful experience and we will be back!

My husband and I had a wonderful experience here! We were driving thru from Florida and we stopped for dinner. We sat at the bar, which was quaint and welcoming. They had a fabulous array of seasonal autumn cocktails. I ordered the Mrs Rogers and was properly balanced. We also decided on the deviled eggs, the farm salad, and we split the ginger pumpkin bisque pork chop. Everything was incredible, even all the attentive staff who always checked in on us. This is our second time stopping here for dinner and it hasn’t disappointed yet ❤️

If I could give this place 10 stars, I would.
The consistency is unmatched. The service is always warm, attentive, and just gets it right every single time.
Must-orders:
✅ Filet
✅ The Put-Ups
✅ Bacon Jam (life-changing)
✅ Deviled Eggs
✅ Anything on the menu
Their cheese board is an every-time situation. It changes slightly each visit, which keeps it fun, but that bacon jam is the constant you can count on — and it’s always unreal.
We recently tried the special ribeye sandwich and I’m still thinking about it. Perfectly cooked and unbelievably flavorful.
This spot is a MUST.
Make a reservation — you won’t regret it.

Had a fantastic dinner here! Service was friendly and attentive. I ordered the scallops with risotto—perfectly cooked—and the peach salad was a fresh, flavorful combo. But the real star was the crack pie… absolutely unforgettable. Great spot for a date night. Highly recommend!

This restaurant left me speechless after eating! I mean it’s almost impossible to describe how great this restaurant was. The bread we had was very light and fluffy and the jam preserve that went with it was awesome! The pork bites appetizer was also excellent and the onions and sauce parred well with it. We ordered the ribeye as our main course and wow, absolutely wow! Seasoned to perfection, the sides were perfection, and it was the perfect temperature we requested. To end this night we ordered the chocolate brookie with the ice cream. Best brookie I’ve ever eaten! Everything was delicious and Will our server described the menu so well that our mouth was watering as he was talking! We also met the GM and just felt welcomed by the whole team! Absolutely give them a try!

This is the most amazing restaurant I’ve ever been to that doesn’t have a MICHELIN STAR RATING! The steak was the epitome of the perfect medium rare. The Dijon mustard mashed potatoes were an amazing compliment to the steak. The Brussel sprouts, and the desserts we had were amazing. I wish I would’ve taken more picture but I was so mind blown that this wasn’t Michelin rated! I was so caught up in the service and the ambience that I could do nothing but imagine what all I was going to say for this review. This is the easiest 5 star review I’ve EVER given. EXTREMELY RECOMMENDED I WILL BE BACK FROM D.C. just for this!!!!!

I went to Dovetail restaurant for dinner, with my husband, while we were on a romantic getaway in Macon, Georgia. Excellent service was provided by everyone we came across, and everyone we interacted with in the restaurant. Our waiter was amazing. The food was so delicious. We had the Roasted Cauliflower and Beet salad. In a larger portion, I could have had that as a meal. We had a trout entree which was prepared so well, and served hot The fish was tender and tasty. The atmosphere was elegant. I would definitely eat there again when we are next in Macon.

On a return trip from Florida, we decided to stay in Macon for the night. Based on excellent Google reviews we chose to give Dovetails a try and we are so glad we did. All regular tables were booked tonight, but we were able to get reservations for bar seating which was fine for us. A strawberry shrub with mezcal cocktail and a Boulevardier with double Rye whiskey were a great start to our evening. We decided to stick with the often recommended dishes including pork belly bites, deviled eggs, cornbread muffins, and scallops with pimento cheese risotto. All were fantastic! Everyone at the bar finished their meal with cracked pie served with salted caramel gelato and so did we. Such a sweet dessert but it was very balanced with the salted caramel. Delicious! Dovetail didn’t disappoint.

I liked the atmosphere.
I spent over $160 here for 2 people. The food was tasty. I go to eat the left overs the next day and find someone else’s hair in the pork belly. It definitely did not belong to me or the person I was with. Really gross. I wouldn’t expect this experience from a fine dining restaurant. The lights were dim so I couldn’t see any hairs while I was eating at the restaurant. So I very well may have eaten hair. I would have otherwise given 4-5 stars if it weren’t for the hair in my food.
