Walking into a restaurant at 7:00 AM can usually be a bit of a gamble. Most of the time, you’re greeted by a staff that is just as tired as you are, but Doug’s Place is a total breath of fresh air. I was shocked to be immediately greeted by a team that was high-energy, genuinely friendly, and seemingly thrilled to be there. Starting the morning with that kind of positivity is a game-changer.

The service was lightning-fast. I was seated and served almost immediately by a fantastic waitress who stayed on top of everything without being overbearing. First up was the black coffee—often the true test of a breakfast joint—and it was excellent: hot, bold, and fresh.

For the main event, I went with the Western omelet paired with hashbrowns and toast. It was prepared perfectly and was extremely tasty; you can tell they use quality ingredients. The hashbrowns had that ideal golden crunch, and the omelet was packed with flavor. It’s rare to find a spot that nails both the food and the atmosphere so early in the day. I will definitely be back. If you’re looking for a great start to your morning, this is it!

Southern hospitality and southern comfort food.
We felt warmly welcomed and our server kept our drinks topped off. I had the Friday night all you can eat catfish – good stuff. The wife’s chicken was a bit disappointing. We were expecting juicy southern fried chicken, but it was dry and a bit tough. The hospitality and atmosphere made up for the chicken.

Really cute restaurant. Outside was very well done with large signage. The inside was well decorated and homey feeling.

The cinnamon roll was fantastic – only served on weekends.

The food was a little dry, but still very good. We had breakfast.

The women’s bathroom was very well decorated and clean.

Doug’s Place is an iconic restaurant with a long history of providing great food and service. One of the few places left where you can get a proper southern breakfast, just like Grandma used to cook. You can’t go wrong with breakfast or lunch at Doug’s.

It was a Saterday night so I expected to wait for a seat. I told my out of state visiting family the food is so worth the weight. As we waited we over here the hostess telling everyone the kitchen is backed up because of fried food they have to get caught up because they are 20 to 30 minutes behind on all fried food. Still I said it’s okay let’s weight. ( party of 6). Finally we get a table get our drinks them give our order. The food came out fast i was very surprised and happy because we are all so hungry at this point. Then I relize the only thing on my plate that is hot is my backed potatoe.. my pintos are luck warm at best my toast was tuff. My fried Okra and the catfish was old and cold. And nasty I waited to catch my waitress I ate my beans and my potatoe by the time she got there. I told her the issue . Everyone at my table that had Okra had the same problem, I was the only one who ordered the catfish. The girl comes back out and says can I take your food back so they can see it. As if I lied. But I said sure because anyone can see it was bad. It took forever to just get the check and pay. They took off 2 orders of Okra (3$ total ) but did nothing for the catfish. Never even an apology. What I don’tget is of they were backed up on fried food how is everything fried old and cold? I’m done I will ņot be back

Atmosphere was great. However, after waiting 40 minutes for our food, we flagged down the waitress to ask and request some drink refrills. When she didn’t come back, we went to the hostess. They asked if we order fried food (which is over half the menu) and we explained that other tables seated after us had gotten their food. We continued to wait expecting hot, fresh country cooking. Meanwhile, the waitress, didn’t bring the drink refills until one plate of food was served (& she brought the wrong drink). The remaing food was brought and slightly warmer than room temperature. Our waitress immediately returned with the ticket. Our girls went to the car carrying leftover chicken fingers in a napkin, still no waitress. When we started to get up she came over to take our payment. My mother told her that the fried catfish filets tasted like they were fried some time ago and the waitress’ response was “oh, you think so.” For whatever reason the waitress did not want to be bothered with us while we could overhear her offering others to go boxes and to go drinks. The restaurant has potential but we will not go back. Good luck to anyone who wants to try it.

Food was good. I would recommend a better selection of hot sauces. Marinade the livers with some good seasoning and bread em better. I understand the food is pre-made but needs a better way to retain heat. I’ll definitely eat here again

New place is really nice. First time visiting the new building. Country fried steak, mashed potatoes and green beans hit the spot. Even better was the discount (free) given the veterans on Veteran’s Day. Will be back for sure.
