Easily the best fried fish I’ve had. The staff is nice, the food comes out quick (always consistently good) and the fish tastes light and fresh. The fish is fried just right making it slightly crispy on the outside but not overkill greasy like fried fast food. The coleslaw is also really great. They also have seasonal ice cream that can be very yummy.

I love Doug’s! I also love that it hasn’t changed in 25 years (since I left Skaneateles), other than expanding and improving. We ordered the hot dog (Hoffman’s all the way!) and fish sandwich. Both were delicious! If you are in the area, stop by Doug’s. You won’t be sorry! Service was great, food came out faster than I anticipated, and it was perhaps the most affordable food I had while in the Finger Lakes.

Had lunch here based on all of the recommendations. Delicious sandwich. Just be clear that a dinner portion size can feed at least two (2), if not 3 people. Huge portions of fried food. But the fish was fried well and definitely fresh!

Doug’s has been around since the early 1980s, and feels like a local institution when you walk by it’s trifecta of local restaurants. Our group came here for a nice, garlicy lobster roll and some onion rings on a weekend trip to Syracuse/Skaneateles — it was solid. Grab a quick ice cream sundae next door for dessert if you’re in the mood, and then take a walk by the lake on a nice sunny day to round out your quintessential weekend trip to Lake Skaneateles

Reminded me of the good old days of going to Doug’s in Dewitt. Haven’t been since I was a kid. Absolutely delicious. The freshest, most perfectly cooked fried scallop dinner served with the best coleslaw I’ve ever had along with those fries I remembered so fondly. Finished my meal with a cheeky little milkshake…MUST get one when you go!
