Really reasonably priced (USD) compared to the other restaurants nearby, but as the CAD is awful.. it was not great for my wallet. Would definitely come again
We had beef noodles, soup dumplings, shrimp dumplings and pork buns. All the food came out quick and fresh. Fairly priced and service was average, but quick.
If you want some good quick dim sum, this is your spot if in the area. I will visit again.
Then came the shrimp zucchini dumplings, and these were the real showstoppers. They were not only fresh and delicious, but also had soup inside! I had so much fun biting gently, sipping the warm broth, and then eating the dumpling. That whole experience was just chef’s kiss.
Now let me share a tip: they serve grated ginger for dipping, and I made my own little magic sauce by mixing equal parts soy sauce and vinegar, added in some chili oil and the ginger. Dipped those dumplings in it—and I swear, I was in heaven!
I loved the place so much that I went to two different locations on back-to-back days (yes, it’s that good). On one day, I got the veggie spicy mala noodles, and on the next, I tried the dan dan noodles. Both were tasty and had great texture and heat, but I did notice a bit of a tingly, lingering aftertaste on my tongue. Not sure if it was the Szechuan pepper or chili oil, but it didn’t bother me enough to stop eating.
Overall, the food was fresh, flavorful, and comforting, the vibe was casual but clean, and service was quick at both locations. Dough Zone has definitely become one of my top favorite spots, and I already can’t wait to go back in a few days. If you haven’t been yet—go. You’ll thank me later.
I hope it was just an off day but seeing everyone elses plates on the way as i was sat gave me a bad feeling which was then validated when my food arrived. I wasn’t just served food that was not worth the price but it reminded me of reheated frozen food I make at my own home when i’m feeling lazy. The meat the dumplings had was such a small portion that I’m surprised anyone who is an adult can eat that and be satisfied. It was seriously not worth the price point what so ever.
I didn’t just order the pumpkin dumplings but the food I came for was so underwhelming I was genuinely disappointed for even giving it faith. Biting into the pumpkin dumplings was like a spoonful of just pumpkin puree. No additional spicesor flavor could be tasted and the portion was so small that I literally left hungry after spending nearly 30 dollars.
It really screamed gentrified dumpling place lol.
