It’s our tradition to come here for the new year because the pizza is among the best in the city. Their options are more creative than other pizza places, and the ingredients are high quality. The location recently changed (next door to its old place) and I like the layout and seating arrangements better now. We got zaatar fries, the pepperoni hot honey pizza and an arrabbiata pizza. The arrabbiata was way too spicy for me but my partner absolutely loved it. The hot honey was the best one I’ve had at double zero yet! Every time I come I am impressed by the food. Also their happy hour prices are great, we got the zaatar fries at a discount.

Went for an early dinner like 4:30 pm for a pizza, we were the only ones in there.

As expected service was super attentive and very friendly and kind.

I ordered the honey pepperoni pizza. I ate the whole thing minus a few crusts. The sauce was delicious.

The place was very beautiful inside and they had a very clean bathroom.

I would definitely come back!

Delicious pizza and a range of other menu items available. We tried the Mediterranean summer vegetable pizza and the sunflower pesto pizza. Both were good, the pesto pizza was my favorite. Staff is nice. Depending on hunger, might be able to split one pizza for two people. Leftovers are yummy.

Ok actually quite good vegan mushroom pizza. That’s why they get 5 stars. Margarita would be 5/5 if it had a bit more of that cashew cream cheese…

Drinks were lovely. HUGE basil lemonade. Fab Arnold Palmer. Great.

Tacos were whatever ngl. Get the pizza!!

This restaurant is part of bar verde, the Mexican vegan restaurant, too. It’s a bit confusing.

They are super allergen friendly. Nut free, GF, even soy free!

They have tons of outdoor and indoor seating. Did not need a Rez for a Saturday @noon.

I remember the pasta had a strong flavor, but it had a very sticky texture that felt unpleasant as I was eating it. The truffle pizza was tasty but fell apart easily as the mushroom topping was overflowing and had nothing to hold it down. The dessert (Panna cotta) was yummy. The meatballs were too mushy for me, but the others liked it. The favorite dish we agreed on was the Mac and cheese. The ambiance and customer service were very nice, though, so I would go back to try other dishes next time.

Best vegan pizza in NYC. I could have sworn I reviewed Double Zero before and now I’m wondering if the review disappeared because it was for their old location. They moved (on the same block I think?) into a place that looks a little tighter inside but had an outdoor seating.

Came with a party of 3 and sat inside for a quiet Saturday night dinner—interior seating was maybe half full and exterior seating was packed.

Warning interior didn’t have AC running.

Got two pizzas and jackfruit tacos

Jackfruit tacos: Good but lacked a sauce or spice that left it getting drowned out by the much more flavorful pizzas

Truffle cashew cream pizza: Excellent. Third time getting it and every time it’s been a hit. Flavorful spread of mushrooms on cashew cheese

Spicy Pepperoni Pizza: Pepperonis themselves quite good on a tomato, basil, cheese base. Note the pepperonis have coconut in them in case you’re allergic.

Also got two cocktails and a mocktail, but nothing to report there. My Moscow mule was largely ice.

Unfortunately, the owner is apparently a terrible person according to the April 22, 2024 NYTimes article, but the food is good especially for vegans.

Had always wanted to go to the Double Zero in Venice, CA, so I was excited to finally try the location in NYC!

First off, I found the location to be a bit confusing. There’s two restaurants operating in the same space, so I nearly walked out thinking I was in the wrong place.

Now onto the food and experience! I tried the mushroom pizza and cacio e pepe (see pic of pasta in my review). The pasta was really good. Creamy, lots of flavor, and great texture. It’s not the same as cacio e pepe in Rome, but nonetheless enjoyable.

The pizza tasted good but violated the #1 holy rule of pizza making: limp crust. I couldn’t pick up the slice without it sagging. Whomp, whomp. You also have to be a big fan of truffle oil, it’s used pretty liberally on this dish.

The service was great, though. Nice servers, very eager to refill a glass or clear the table, and the food came out fairly quick. Done and dusted. Love it.

Note to kitchen: try to add some umami or fermented notes in the cacio e pepe to mimic cheese. A lot of places have a killer vegan cream sauce, but none have captured the special-ness (yes, I know that’s not a real word!) of cacio e pepe. There’s a lot of decent vegan cheeses out…it may yield a better result! If you crack the code I’ll gladly come back to try it!!

Hands down the best vegan pizza! Especially since brick oven is always top notch. MK never fails to deliver delicious food and even the vegetation with me who refused to eat vegan cheese or pizza, loved it!
We had the potato pizza this time, definitely yum and the Cesar salad was yum! I would go way more often if I lived closer.
So give it a try, you’ll definitely enjoy.
Seating inside and outside.

The tranquil atmosphere makes every visit feel restorative. Staff members offer exceptional, quick attention with extraordinary dishes. The cost-to-quality ratio makes sense. The chef creates food both well-made and delicious. The food was spectacular!! I can’t wait to come back!
