What a greasy mess.
Sorry, if you love this place.
I tried the Double Wagyu Cheeseburger, added lettuce for $0.50 extra (really?), and ordered the Bag of Fries side.
The double cheeseburger was oily all outside the wrapper, all inside the wrapper, and all over my hands. It was just a plain mess. The $0.50 “lettuce” must have been a literal pinch (as in forefinger and thumb) of shredded lettuce. I did not see or taste it until the last few bites of the sandwich and, even then, it was greased and slopped into sad submission. Was the burger tasty? I’ve had better burgers, and I’ve had better Wagyu beef burgers, and I might even guess you’ve had better, too, but to each their own. 1/5 stars
The fries were also greasy, but at least crispy and tasty. I enjoyed them enough, but don’t need to go back to Double Up Burger for that. 3/5 stars
The service:
I got my order for takeout. You walk up to the counter to order at a touchscreen. I sat and waited for 15 or so minutes after paying. Only until I looked up and made eye contact with a cook behind the counter did they ask me if I’m waiting for something and what my name was. I said my name and order number, and the guy looked at the bags sitting on the counter in front of him and say, “oh, here it is”.
I’d never been here before and no human took my order, but the least someone could do is call out to the room once orders are ready. I only noticed my order had been done because I looked up and made eye contact with someone, purely out of luck. 1/5 stars
I’m sorry, I know this place has a little buzz on local social media and some good reviews here…but I thought it was just a messy, grease-ridden meal with barebones customer service.
Overall, my bill was $24.60. I’m giving Double Up Burger a 2/5 stars ⭐️⭐️

I absolutely loved the restaurant. Whole team and in store setting is a vibe. Service was excellent. Asked to use the bathroom, didn’t expect the staff to clean it before I used it (a lot of places don’t) but my expectations were shattered. London and Simon did an incredible job. Props to them and the whole staff for making sure my needs were met. Will be back again. Great job guys

The first thing I appreciated with this hamburger joint is that they are very relaxed and intentional with their space. The atmosphere along with the people who work there creates a great experience. The hamburger I had was the vegan one, because I’m a vegan. I have to say it was great.Typically most places offer a burger as a vegan option and they don’t really care to season it so I’ve gotten bored with hamburgers but this hit different. They actually take care to season it well! One this is I’m in silver spring so it’s a little far from me.

i came in last weekend as a out of towner. i had the pleasure of having tt as my server. let me just say the service makes the experience! tt was attentive and fast paced the entirety of our dine in. the food was great and came out with decent time. definitely will be back !!

Been eating here regularly for a few months now and it never disappoints. The burger is somewhere between Shake Shack and Five Guys from a flavor profile in case you are not familiar with smash burgers. I recommend getting a double burger and add the grilled onions. The come back sauce is a solid addition to put on. At times my partner and I split the wagyu chopped cheese and large fries which fills us both (if I’m feeling greedy I could do a whole sub with small fries.
Love the staff! Since my first visit the servers have been super friendly. Had an issue once where uber misled me and I ordered from the wrong location because the page didn’t specify the address. No problem. The server grabbed who I believe is an owner or at least GM (Jeremy?) and dude was beyond accommodating despite it not having been their fault. Earned a loyal customer. True customer service is hard to come by these days.
Location is modern and well designed. Big screen TVs in case you are dining there. I believe there’s an upstairs too which I haven’t seen yet. They also have a boba spot and hot chicken brand they offer out of the same location. Highly recommend it.

Solid, casual burger spot right on H. Had the Wagyu burger and fries and both were on point. Made to order so everything was fresh and delicious. The Wagyu is a $13 burger but you’re paying for the premium ingredient and the smash burger was cooked perfectly. Hit it up on a week night and it was chill and staff was super nice. Will definitely hit up again when craving a smash burger. This would also definitely work for a delivery order too.
