Live in Houston, in for the weekend. Found this place by asking someone for a reco.
Good eats ✅
Good beer, cocktail and mocktail menu ✅
Atmosphere ✅
Cool. Humble. Authentic.
Love the playlist. Rock, Americana beach vibe. Beautiful intentional thought and detail throughout
the decor, menus, including the drink and mocktail menu. GET the Dreaming of you nod to Selena mocktail. It’s delicious coconut and SO FUN to drink! Also tried the pierogies, all American burger, and Fish & Chips (All a GO).

I went to Double Standard for a late night meal.

What they brought out was embarrassing.

The burger was burnt.
Not “a little char.”
Burnt.

The bun? Also burnt.

And they’re charging like it’s some elevated Riverwalk experience.

It’s not.

It’s lazy.

When you’re in a high traffic tourist spot and people are paying real money, you don’t get to drop the ball because it’s late and you think no one will call it out.

That’s not a mistake.
That’s a lack of standards.

Do better.

Thoroughly enjoyed the tequila mockingbird cocktail! & the shrimp cocktail the bartender Brandon was amazing and even put tajin on the rim which surprisingly not everyone will do at restaurants and bars. It’s my favorite! My hubby had the French dip sandwich and it was perfect as well. Thanks!

Decent bar downtown that has good happy hour if you like Oysters & beer. We visited Sunday &, indulged with $1.50 oysters and $2 beers. Park at City Tower garage.

Drove by this place on the way to our hotel. We made the short walk back to this establishment after getting unpacked and settled in. Was definitely something different for me since I usually do sport bars. But the lay back atmosphere and the drinks made me realize I’d been missing out. The water bottle with shot glasses to self serve your water was something new to me definitely a good touch. We didn’t do a plate but appetizers instead. The oysters were good and the Boudin balls were just as good . Me and my wife really enjoyed this place and the budget friendly happy hour definitely helps. We’ll be coming back to San Antonio plenty with my son attending UTSA I do believe we found another must stop everytime we come back. Highly recommend stopping here

Awesome spot with great food and even better drinks! Bryan was a great bartender and took care of us the whole night. Let us know the specials and kept the coming! Music was great too!

Sarah with Offline – We went to Double Standard for date night. Parking downtown is always a pain and can be expensive but if you’re patient you might be able to find a spot on the street- we did! The place was pretty busy when we arrived but we found two seats at the bar with no problems. Our bartender was so fast and gave us excellent food and drink recommendations. Everything was delicious! Highly recommend the burgers (YUM)!

Yaaaaaasssss to a place to visit. We were visiting San Antonio and stepped out of our friend’s hotel desiring to eat. Their slogan “doubles are the standard” was enough for me. . Great atmosphere…. but you do have to get up to order at the bar. We sat at the bar. The first bartender Roland didn’t give bad service but his energy DEFINITELY DID NOT match Alex’s, Randy’s, Bryan’s, and the other men.

The food portions are decent. EXCELLENT happy hour specials. The food didn’t disappoint (we just had to “doctor” the roast beef po boy). We will be back before we leave!!!

Hubby and I ate here almost every day of our last trip, so this was our first stop on this year’s return. Unfortunately the food did not initially “hit” like before. Hubby’s steak was extremely tough and my fries were cold… however the staff was very accommodating. He ordered something else and it was like the “good old days” . I got extremely turned off when our main server kept rubbing his hair prior to fixing my drink and then later touched his nostrils and then touched ice and fruit . The menu changed and some of my favorites were not on the Dec 2025 menu. [Some plusses- Brandon came in as we were wrapping up with that excellent energy and customer service and made a very good green tea and shouts out to Angel who kept checking in on us]

This place has really good drinks!

We sat at the bar and the service was a bit slow, but once we got our orders going the drinks came pretty fast.

We loved all of our cocktails. It was happy hour so I got the espresso martini. Then I got the painkiller which was SO GOOD. My boyfriend got the rum punch and it was OUT OF THIS WORLD!

We did have an issue with one of our drinks but the staff was apologetic and comped one of them for us.

I personally think the drinks are better than the food. We ordered the scotch eggs but the dish came out incomplete (was missing the carrot mustard). They explained that the chef in the back was new.

We came back another night to try the burgers. The fries were nicely crispy but they weren’t hot. The burger was decent but I wasn’t a fan of the bread they used! I would have liked it toasted at least to give it some crunch or density. This wasn’t my favorite burger tbh!

This place has a great atmosphere for relaxing in a sophisticated setting. The food is amazing! The White bean dip is a must have. I also usually get a dozen oysters. Their presentation and setup is great. The mixed cocktails are top tier, but you can’t go wrong with a schooner of beer or classic double. They don’t always have the game on, but I got lucky and caught a couple Spurs games here. It felt like a secret I shouldn’t have been in on. Also worth noting, you can get any drink to-go!
