Atmosphere stunning and feel of the place is upscale. The door guy is a gem. The two bartenders last night were LESS than welcoming.. to say the least. We left because of the vibe. The 10 people there seemed great but the bartenders were either “distracted ” or just don’t like their jobs. Not a great feeling when you’re paying for the experience. Too bad. It’s a really cool vibe.

Lovely hidden spot. Definitely a locals hidden treat. Music was amazing and the drinks were unique and delicious. Bartenders can make anything and the infusions of ginger and orchid was heavenly. It does get busy later but totally worth the visit. Prices on the drinks cheaper than most places on canal street and bourbon street and far superior to be honest.

Dark, cozy, and intimate. The bar service has a great list of classics cocktails as well as their own unique recipes. We had a bonus of live music that started playing at 9:30PM.

The Double Dealer is sort of a speakeasy combined with a really cool bar. It keeps a low profile and I find even a lot of New Orleans locals do not know about it. It’s located across from the Roosevelt Hotel and under the Orpheum Theater. A good bar with knowledgeable mixologists and great cocktails. Later in the evening they have very good live entertainment. Only open Friday and Saturday nights, it’s best to plan ahead but definitely worth a visit.

Really cool speakeasy with great drinks and awesome live music. There are 2 bars down here but have a very luxurious feel to them.
Great spot for a date or just some drinks in a relaxed classy environment. We were there fairly early on a Friday and I was amazed at how not crowded it was. Hidden gem.

This is a hidden gem downtown! I love the vibe…very chill. The setting is somewhat like a speakeasy mixed with burlesque. It’s an upscale bar, sexy vibe. Drinks are good!!! They also give complimentary popcorn .Service was good as well.

The bouncer that works Saturday evenings has a power trip and won’t let guests in because they don’t understand his jokes.
Me and a group of 7 people tried to enter this evening. He told us we needed to wait until guests exited up the stairway. We politely waited and then proceeded to walk down the stairs once they cleared the walkway.
The bouncer stopped us and said you need to talk to the bouncer before you go downstairs. I proceeded to say “we’ve been talking to you for the past few minutes what do you mean?” He said again “you need to talk to the bouncer before you proceed”. I again repeated we have already been talking to you. And then he said “what I mean by talking to the bouncer is showing your ID”.
To which I said no problem and I showed him my ID and said, “I had already talked to you prior to going down the stairs”. He looked at my ID and said “well you can have a nice night”. I then proceeded to say “I’m confused. What do you mean?” And he said “You are being too literal. You can have a nice night.” and denied me and my party of 7 entry even after I showed my ID and was of legal age.
He seemed to be on a power trip and wanted to make a point. Next time he should have asked for ID’s immediately before cracking jokes and then getting upset that people don’t understand his euphemisms.

My wife and I visited Double Dealer shortly after opening on a Friday night. The atmosphere is unlike any place we have ever been. Such a cool place!
To start, it is under the Orpheum theater. There are booths surrounding the bar which have curtains you can close for privacy. Additionally, there are buttons in the booths that alert your waiter/waitress on when you need to place an order. Some booths they can serve you directly from the bar through a drink opening. So cool! Highly recommend!

What a gem in New Orleans. Truly has a speakeasy vibe, too. Love that it’s “underground.” A group and I went on a Saturday night, and the atmosphere was great. Live music in one room, not too packed or busy, and the bar was a little quieter, with great bartenders! They made some really great cocktails and were very welcoming people. I definitely plan on coming back whenever I can!
