Food, drinks and things you can start a campfire with.

The perfect mountainside bar/restaurant/general store.

The Ruben was great.

The extra chilly Rumpleminz hit the spot. Dessert one shot at a time.

What an experience, First off the guy server asked if we needed straws for our Diet coke. Exactly words were if your way you would need practice with a staw. Haha is was ok but then we found out he didn’t work there and he shouldn’t have taken our order. Breakfast took 55 min and we were one of four eating. When it came it was cool to touch but tasted good. We never were asked about refills even tho when she delivered out food. They messed up my order and forgot my eggs so I assumed when she came back 10 min later to deliver my eggs she would refill then. Nope I couldn’t get a word in because she was talking to the three drunk women sitting in front off us. I see your for sale. Either you just dont give a crap any longer or your hire the worst servers in AZ. Either way ill drive the extra 20 min to Payson from here on.

Great little rustic (off the beaten path) place. Unfortunately we chose pizza As you can see we picked it apart and hardly ate any of it! Wings were pretty pricey $24 for 10 wings so we decided against them. Service was OK esp since there was only one person doing it all on a Sat afternoon.

We did not eat, grabbed drinks from the general store attached. We had to go through the bar and restaurant, it was so cool! The staff was helpful and nice, the bar was like stepping back in time! Hats hanging from the ceiling, dollars on the walls, pool tables and dart boards. There was a band setting up out back. If we had more time we would have stayed, I cant wait to go back!

The ride from the low desert of San Tan Valley into the pine forest just above Payson was amazing! Once I reached the one general store / bar & grill town I was not disappointed. The clean air filled my lungs as I marvaled at the change from desert to pines! After fuling up on a couple of I head back down the twisty historic highway. I was actually going to repeat this trip yesterday. However, I opted for a new destination. See my next review of Salt River Canyon.

What a gem! Sarah was awesome, the food wonderful, and the vibe super chill. I had onion rings with the best Ruben ever, my daugher had grenchili potato appetizer ( i dont recall what the name of it was sorry), and the hubby had philly cheese steak sandwich. So much food we had to take a to go box. forgot to take pictures before we started eating and there was only one onion ring left when the rest of the food arrived.

If you’re not a bar person you’re not going to appreciate this place. If you can go in willing to have the experience of being around people who deal with crap everyday and are just trying to unwind then you have the right attitude. The food was decent. The language was, at times, salty. But it’s people trying to be loose, and if you’re willing to lean into that you’ll find it’s a good place to be.

Shout out to the man behind the bar. Semper Fi.

Hands down one of the best spots in payson. Had a wonderful experience during our over night trip at Christopher creek. The service and food were outstanding! Being that it’s off season, the bartender was also the server and the cook! She was on top of everything and we never had to wait for drinks or anything. Pizza was phenomenal. Sarah, thank you for the great conversation and for making us feel like regulars. Definitely will be a mandatory stop for us every time we are in the area.

This was hands-down one of the worst meals I’ve had in a long time. The cheeseburger was flavorless and limp — dry patty, soggy bun, zero seasoning — and tasted like it had been sitting under a heat lamp for ages. The chicken sandwich was no better: rubbery, dry chicken with no crunch or flavor to redeem it. Both dishes felt carelessly slapped together rather than prepared.

To make matters worse, they seem to only cater to the local drunks. They had numerous beers and shots before we got our food to go, then they drive. Be careful in this town. Between the inedible food and the baffling billing mistake, the whole visit felt disorganized and unprofessional. Save your money and go somewhere that actually cooks and keeps tabs straight. I won’t be back.

The food has always been amazing. The service is pretty impressive considering she was by herself running the bar & taking food orders & bringing them out and still remembering my ranch!. The atmosphere is what you expect for a country bar . I do have to mention the pizza we come from Payson just for it it is really good. And again great job to our server on Saturday she did great!
