I go here often because they have cheap smokes and it’s close to where I live. 8 out of every 10 times that I go (and yes, I’ve counted), the staff is either on break (smoking and chatting outside the front door) or in the middle of a shift change. I’ve tried going at different times to avoid these breaks and shift changes, but it always seems to be a thing. Today I went in to buy 4 boxes of cigs. The girl behind the counter is one of the usual staff, we have carried on numerous conversations in the past and usually she’s pretty friendly. She asked to check my i.d. (Which I usually have in my hand and don’t need because they have gotten used to me I guess, but this time I had to dig for it.) but that was fine, so I made a joke about how many times I go in, and she got snippy and said, “Well, I have never seen you and they are cracking down. You could be a cop…” Ok, whatever. I handed her my $20 bucks and asked for matches, she gave me 4 things of matches and did not offer me a bag to carry all this stuff out the door. I asked for a few more matches and she waved her hand and said, there over there. I was a little put off by her attitude so I grabbed a few more books and started walking out the door. She said, “Have a nice day.” Then as I reached the door I heard her say, “Or not.” I turned around and looked at her as I walked out the door to confirm that she was talking to me…well, you have a nice day, because I won’t be back. Inconsistent service, always on break. Crappy attitudes. I’ll drive down to the one in Murray from here on out. Thanks!

Dotty’s #6 on Cedar Hills in Beaverton has a good group of employees that work in that store. Only store that doesn’t sell hard liquor, only beer and wine.
