⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Easily the best part of my trip to KC!

Whenever I travel for work, one of the things I look forward to most is diving into the local food scene. When I was in KC for a week, I had a full list of spots I wanted to try. But for the first time I can remember… I didn’t make it past one place.

After some quick math, out of maybe 14 breakfasts and dinners that week… I ate here 11 times. Eleven. Times.

Why would anyone possibly do that?
Well, have one meal here and you’ll understand. The menu is insane—like “I want one of everything” insane—and the execution is flawless. Every single dish comes out looking like a work of art.

A few personal standouts: the chopped club, mushroom Benedict, banana bread French toast, lamb sliders, and the steak vegetable bowl, Tenders, Brie. I’ve worked in kitchens, and this was genuinely one of the most impressive displays of culinary detail I’ve ever seen.

But here’s the crazy part: the food wasn’t even the best thing about this place.

The people are.
On a good day at most restaurants, you might remember your server’s name. Here? I swear I know 80% of the staff—Blue, Franky, Lucas, Lauren, Nicole, Brittani, and Franky’s mom (the sous chef!). Every single one of them is kind, hardworking, and somehow makes you feel like family.

I’m leaving KC today, and honestly, what I’ll miss most isn’t the BBQ or the skyline—it’s my friends at Dott Boss.
An incredible culinary experience, only surpassed by even more incredible people. ❤️

P.S. Please come visit us in Canada. I’ll cook for you this time.

Really pretty spot right downtown. Food was excellent. I had the Breakfast sandwich and my husband had steak and eggs. His stake was so tender it would fall apart as you stabbed it. Whatever seasonings they put on the breakfast sandwich (maybe it’s the mustard?) were delicious. And the breakfast potatoes were cooked to perfection.

Dott Boss is a really great restaurant. I came for breakfast and had the steak eggs benedict and was blown away. The food was really delicious and the service was prompt and friendly. This is an exceptional eatery and would definitely recommend it to anyone searching for an amazing breakfast.

We stayed at the Hotel Indigo and decided to have breakfast at this restaurant inside the hotel. Our overall experience was fantastic.
The service and food were 1st class. My wife ordered Shrimp and Grits Benedict. It was the best Benedict that we ever had.
My bowl was delicious. Coffee and juice excellent.

Highly recommended

We were staying at a lesser hotel that didn’t have a working bar, so when we needed to find some place to have a relaxed dinner, we ended up at Dott Boss.

First off, Blue was a treasure. Extremely friendly and provided great service. As for the rest, the drinks were good. We had a Charcuterie Board and it was an interesting flavor and adventure. We did eat the whole thing.

The atmosphere was great, and the booths were comfortable. It was well lit and overall a great expience. Thinking of skipping out on our lesser hotels breakfast to enjoy Dott Boss again.

My bride and I stayed at the Hotel Phillips and decided to try DOTT Boss since it’s in the same building. She had the breakfast tacos and said they were a little spicy and very delicious. I had the fried bologna sandwich which was nothing like my childhood memories, this was elevated to another level. The bologna was more similar to pastrami and flavorful. Adding a fried egg on wheat bread with an aoli sauce made this one of the best sandwiches I’ve had in a long time. With mimosas and a beautiful date this was not just brunch but a wonderful experience. And thank you for the wonderful customer service!!

During our stay at Hotel Indigo, I had both breakfast and dinner at Dott Boss! I only have a photo of my breakfast sandwich, however both meals were a wonderful experience. The latte was smooth and on par with any solid coffee shop, the sandwich a step above with crisp bacon and a fresh egg. Dinner was steak tips, and the chicken tacos – both excellent. My daughter declared the tacos the best she’s ever had, actually! But what really stands out was the service. It was impeccable for both meals: prompt, friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable! As an example, I ordered a club soda with lime; my daughter stole the lime for her drink, and when he brought out her second beverage, he had clearly observed that because he added a lime to her replacement. That kind of quiet attention to detail is impressive! Very happy to stay on site for food when this is the experience – even being surrounded by other options for restaurants.

Brittany was our server. What a delightful young lady! Bubbly, professional and couldn’t do enough to make our experience a good one. Our party had four different breakfasts which all were done to perfection. Hot coffee was plentiful also. The restaurant was spotlessly clean, fresh and airy. A minor issue for management but the door on the side of the restaurant has the opening hours on it but was locked. There was no reference to advise that the entrance was located on the Main Street and through the building lobby. It would be helpful to customers to note the entrance so they don’t miss any potential customers. Otherwise, a wonderful experience!

We stayed at The Hotel Indigo and didn’t know this place was attached to it. We received vouchers with our stay for free breakfast (up to $17 per person) and were pleasantly surprised about the food.

Breakfast:

The egg sandwiches were huge and the bagels were soft. The potatoes are the best. Perfectly seasoned and a little bit of crunch.

The French toast was a good portion and super tasty. Again, the breakfast potatoes

Yogurt and jam was a little bland but if you’re into not so sweet, this could work for you.

The breakfast tacos were on the money! Definitely give these a try. So much flavor and good portion.

The eggs Benedict was tasty and a good portion. Best part are those potatoes with it!

Dinner:

Nachos were ehhhh, not very good in my opinion. Just very basic and no shine to them.

Alfredo dish was really good and the portion was great. Super tasty and not tooo creamy and we added the broccoli for some added flavor.

Tenders salad was very basic and not worth the price.

Drinks:

Bloody Mary was made just right and hit the spot for an early morning pick me up.

Mimosa was mixed perfectly and tasted great.

All in all we had great experiences dining here. The food for the most part was good and the plate portions are generous. I think the prices are a little high but I guess that’s the trend in downtown Kansas City!

Give this place a try.

The entrance is INSIDE the hotel!! I tried every exterior door before realizing- bruh, a sign would help. Anyway, we popped in for a late breakfast on a Friday morning and was sat right away. Blue provided the BEST service, hands-down, that I have had in KC. She expertly guided us through the seasonal menu and shared detailed food and drink recommendations based on what we were in the mood for. Upscale vibe with hearty comfort food and top notch service ❤️
