An oasis in Bakersfield. Simply excellent food at a fair price. Locally sourced ingredients. Creative preparation. This will now be my go to on business here. Reservations recommended on weekend nights. Had dinner here with wife two nights in a row. Live music both nights for a nice soft ambient background environment. This is a delightful addition to the downtown area. I had the blackened halibut. It was served over greens and sweet potato mashers. This dinner entree did not disappoint. The flavors were perfectly matched.

Three of us mature citizens decided to try this new restaurant with the strange name. We were impressed with the open seating with, the unusual food from a limited menu. The look is modern with a variety of beer, wine, and unusual soft drinks. Give it a try.

We truly enjoyed our meal, I had fish tacos my son had the Korean beef sandwich. Restaurant was not too busy when we arrived at 2 pm and we were able to find a table immediately. The owner stopped by and asked about our experience!

Came during their soft opening. Had a chocolate chip cookie (lightly salted), delicious. Ordered Marrow & Eggs, and a California shaped cookie to go. Not bad at all. This might force me to become a breakfast person.

Italian sandwich with homemade pickles was wonderful. The Hibiscus Mint Lemon drink was out of this world. (I am tickled that one of the owners went to Garces with my son, Kaznicka is her name.)

The atmosphere and the food were absolutely amazing! My husband’s steak was phenomenal and I had the delicious lentils and curry with cauliflower rice. We finished it of with the fresh and light strawberry shortcake. Tim was our server and he gave us some great recommendations. He was on top of everything. We will definitely be back!

If you want to feel special eat here. This was our first visit for dinner. Cheyenne our server was wonderful. She listened to Linda’s dietary complexities and assured her that they could and would adjust the carrot risotto to meet her needs. It was served with baby beets, goat and mushrooms. It was great. Our dinner started off with a seasonal watermelon spritzer. Then came the risotto and my order of pork belly in a cast iron skillet served with turnips and carrots on a bed of cooked kale topped with carrot pesto. Desert followed with a fresh fruit torte of peaches and nectarines. Linda enjoyed a sugar rubbed melon. Each bite was a simple mouthful of flavor. Cheyenne made sure all the experience was 5 star. A great place to dine.
