I agree that there are several other Korean restaurants in Rochester with authentic cooking and decades of history in Rochester.

My favorite korean place in Rochester by far. I have taken all my friends and family to this spot. I routinely crave the seafood pancake and the spicy cold noodles with brisket. The stews are also delicious and very comforting in the winter months. The matcha lattes are the best in town.

I had been meaning to review this place for ages! We walk in and they already know our order and are beyond sweet, incredible people! The quality has never wavered and the service is beyond. This food is incredible! So fresh and so well prepared. You can feel the heart they all put into this place. We crave this food any time we are out of town and it’s always our first stop when we come home! Definitely try the dosiiroc box and any of their teas. Their secret sauce is a must!!

The tteokbokki was soft and spicy, and the beef bulgogi bbq plate was so good, such juicy crispy meat. We shared some of the stuff the bulgogi box came with. The fried chicken box came with boneless pieces of white meat and the “secret sauce” was good—spicy and tangy.

There’s no pomp and circumstance here, just a mom and daughter and their team who want to share food that makes them happy – and I love that.
I’ve been getting the spicy pork bulgogi box because the bang for the buck is phenomenal and the pork is just the right amount of spicy for me. Last night was snowing and I thought I wanted kimchi jjigae, but when I got there I realized they had mul nangmyeon on the menu, which in the states is often only served in the summer because it’s a cold dish – if it’s served at all. I was excited because it’s my favorite and ordered that for dine-in and the kimchi jjigae for take out for the next day. When the mul nangmyeon was served the daughter made sure I was familiar with the dish so I wouldn’t dose myself with a lethal amount of horseradish sauce which was sweet. The mom didn’t realize I’d been warned and also came to tell me. She also shared with me that it’s on the menu during the winter because it is actually traditionally a winter dish and it’s one of her favorites too, so why limit it seasonally? The interaction was kind and warm and made me extra excited to eat her cooking.
In general I have yet to be disappointed in anything here. The banchan is always fresh and they’re generous with it.
It’s a good place to eat with friends and family, I’ve always been with one other person, but it’s also a quiet and relaxed enough atmosphere that I think it’d be nice to bring a book or study material by yourself – they have a decent cafe beverage menu if you don’t want to have a full meal while doing so.

I’m impressed. I’m a huge huge lover of Korean food…. DossiRoc Cafe, does not disappoint.

Before the food even arrived, it was nice to see an older Korean woman making all the food…. Always a good sign. Lol. Plus the kitchen looked spotless and the restaurant is extremely clean.

Seems like a family owned establishment- which I really appreciate….and you can tell their heart is in it. Service was extremely polite and helpful.

The food all tasted like you visited your korean mom’s kitchen. The banchan was quite good, the Mandu guk is comfort in a bowl, bibi naengmyeon was delicious!

If you’re looking for good Korean food- this place is doing it right and is absolutely worth a visit. This place has a winning formula!

UPDATE:

Every time I have visited, the meals are consistently delicious, staff are extremely welcoming, and their coffees and matcha latte are excellent. A truly great restaurant, if you’re craving Korean!

They also now offer mul naengmyeon- the only place in Rochester, that does! One of my favorite dishes- so happy they’re offering it!

My Korean spouse says this place tastes like home cooking. All I know is this place is delicious. Also fast and courteous service with a modern and pleasantly minimalist decor. Very reasonably priced. Highly recommend the kimchi udon carbonara, kimchi pancakes, and Tofu stew. The sides are delicious too

This family-owned Korean restaurant offers real authentic culinary experience that’s hard to find in Rochester. The food actually made me feel like I teleported to Korea to enjoy its rich culture! The space was open and clean, and the menu featured a wide variety of traditional Korean dishes so there’s something for everyone.
My favorite part of the visit is that they definitely didn’t skimp out on the ingredients, as many do. The food had all the right veggies and meat just like how they do in Korea.
A feature of this restaurant was its selection of unique handcrafted drinks, like jollypong frappe which was my favorite. I will definitely be a regular to try the rest of their menu and follow them on instagram.

Recommendations:
Korean pancakes
Boneless fried chicken
Jollypong frappe
Yogurt smoothie
Shrimp fried rice
Spicy stir fried squid

We went there for a low-key birthday dinner and it did not disappoint. We went just excited to try a new spot for Korean food. We got the Tteokbokki and it was perfectly spicy and delicious. We also got the Yachae Jeon and two orders of dumplings as a family/portion for our toddler. I ordered the Dolsot Bibimbap and my husband got the Spicy Pork Bulgogi. Everything was seasoned perfectly and very tasty. The staff was so friendly and efficient. The structure is to pay after you dine which was great because we went up to order more food after our initial order. The staff did se that we were celebrating a birthday and were so thoughtful about that! We’d definitley go back and would recommend anyone looking for great food in a low key, relaxing atmosphere.

5 stars across the board. Amazing food and drinks. Love that they have asian sodas too.
The food took awhile to come out but we did not mind as the food was delectable and we could tell everything was made with love. The ingredients seemed really fresh, and the staff was very nice and welcoming. Honestly, nothing could’ve been better!

10/10! will be coming back for sure! 🙂

Just wanted to leave another review since my return to Dosiiroc Cafe. This is now my favorite place to eat in Rochester. After trying several different menu items and meeting more of the staff (as well as the owner), I cannot recommend this place enough. The customer service, the food/drinks, and the atmosphere together create such a wonderful experience. I am so grateful for Dosiiroc 🙂
