Reviews
They have also introduced Unlimited Thali and its worth for money and lot of items and tastes are good.
The place seems good for dosas, though the side chutneys are bland. Then you try their info-chinese stuff, it is horrible. It’s one thing if the taste is bad, I got the feeling the chef or staff just don’t care to prepare a good meal.
So avoid this, save your after-shopping appetite for a plethora of other options a minute away a few doors down.
✅ What I liked:
The lemon rice and rasam were amazing — fresh, flavorful, and felt like true comfort food. Easily 5/5.
Upma and idli were also good — soft, well-prepared, and packed nicely for takeout.
❌ What didn’t work:
The gobi manchurian dish was disappointing. It lacked flavor and just didn’t taste good at all — definitely not up to the mark.
Overall, the food was packaged well, arrived warm, and delivery was smooth. I’d definitely reorder the lemon rice and rasam again!
The food easily deserves a 5/5 for taste, variety, and freshness. The service is solid as well, earning a 4/5, especially with the quick refills and friendly staff.
The ambiance, however, isn’t the strongest part of the experience. The place can feel a bit loud, and the overall setting is fairly basic, which brings the ambiance rating to 3/5.
Overall, Dosa Place is a great choice if you’re looking for delicious South Indian breakfast without breaking the bank. The food more than makes up for the modest ambiance.
We had some really good gobi Manchurian and it really satisfied her cravings. We also ate Cholay Bhatturey and they were fluffy and light. The food is delicious and there’s plenty for sharing. The prices are actually cheap for the amount of food you get. The service people are nice and restaurant is clean with plenty of seating.
Not sure why so many people complain, it’s a very simple no frills type restaurant and the food is worth stopping by.
We all left super full, having really enjoyed all the flavors, for a smidge over $60 with drinks. That’s a great deal for the Bay Area these days. The atmosphere won’t win any awards, but everything seemed clean enough. We’ll 100% be back. A nice new find.
