Great home-style dosa with yummy chutneys- especially the tomato chutney was very good. The sambhar was amazing- reminded me of home- and ghee kharam dosa was flavorful . Filter coffee was good- personally too strong- a splash more of milk would’ve been perfect!

If you are looking for authentic/good South Indian food DO NOT come here. Their chutneys are terrible. The sambar is more like daal. The dosa is average at best. Their filter coffee is watery and unpalatable. Not to mention they don’t clean their tables – we came at 10am and the tables were dirty and sticky from the previous day.

I love dosas and this place does it well! The non-veg thali was lovely. Great variety

BEST SOUTH INDIAN FOOD IN THE BAY AREA!!!

I found this place about a month ago after spending time in India. And since then, I keep coming back. The food here is incredibly authentic, it tastes like a food that your mom or auntie, or family will cook at home. Very home-cooked and authentic taste.

Especially because it’s cooked by two people who know what real South Indian food or Indian food in general should taste like.

I always get their dosas and thali, and every time, it’s phenomenal —it’s fresh, hot, and packed with flavor. The sambar, rasam, different chutneys, and thali are just amazing. Nothing else in the Bay Area comes close to the taste here. And I always crave their food.

The staff and helpers are super friendly, and the ambiance inside is welcoming and comfortable. This has quickly become my favorite go-to Indian spot. I’ve tried plenty of other places, but none can compare.

If you’re craving real Indian food, you have to try this place!!!!

Dosa Express was amazing! The owner was friendly and the service was great. We came in for breakfast, and the food was so tasty and reminded us of Kurnool-style flavors that we ended up ordering takeout too. The ghee podi idli was the best I’ve had (even better than Mylapore in Sunnyvale). We also took Gongura rice and Coconut rice to go, and both were delicious. Highly recommend!

Dosa Express is delicious destination for adventurous adults and curious kiddos.
Kids can dive into the Cheese Dosa, a golden dosa shell filled with melted, gooey cheese—simple, comforting, and a guaranteed favorite. There’s even a surprise twist: the Chocolate Dosa, a sweet treat wrapped in a crispy crepe-like shell, perfect for dessert or a playful snack.

I visited your restaurant yesterday and had a good experience overall.

The veg pulao and veg thali were delicious and tasted like home-cooked food. I also liked the sweet – it wasn’t too sweet, just right. However, the Mumbai masala dosa wasn’t as good because the masala, with paneer and mixed vegetables, didn’t work for me. I also tried the fried rice twice, and it had an unusual taste and smell, which didn’t feel healthy. The onion pakoda was disappointing too, as it had more gram flour and hardly any onion. so I think this is something that could be improved.

The ambience is nice, the seating areas are clean, and the portion sizes are just right.
I gave 4 stars because while most things were great, some dishes need improvement.

I recently visited Dosa Express, a restaurant with stunning Indian aesthetic decor that instantly transported me back home. I started with my favorite, a perfectly brewed filter coffee, which set the tone for a memorable meal. The food was delicious and well-presented, from the crispy Punugulu and flavorful Uggani Bajji to the Ghee Karam Dosa, which had just the right amount of spice.

The Mini Idli with podi and Idli Vada Pongal Combo were fantastic, both being comforting and packed with authentic flavors. The Veg Thali was also impressive, offering a variety of dishes that felt like a complete Indian meal experience. For dessert, the soft and sweet Gulab Jamun was a treat, but the real star was the Chikoo milkshake, the best I’ve had – thick, creamy, and refreshing!

The restaurant was spotless, and the service was warm and attentive. My favorites were the Chikoo milkshake, filter coffee, Mini Idli with podi, Ghee Karam Dosa, Idli Vada Pongal Combo, and Gulab Jamun. Dosa Express is definitely a place I’d love to revisit!

For many years I had been wishing to have a quality South Indian vegetarian restaurant within miles of SFO airport and I have finally found one, Dosa express! Started about three months back, the restaurant is serving fresh, quality and tasty vegetarian dishes. We tried uttappam, chilli bajji, gulab jamun, idli/vada/pongal combo and all were very good! The sambar chutney were fresh too, which generally are served stale elsewhere. They have free street side parking, exceptionally clean restroom and plenty outdoor seating too. Overall In would highly recommend to everyone.

Fantastic food, excellent service, and a beautiful ambiance! We tried their unlimited vegetarian thali, idli/pongal combo, mini idli, uggani bhajji, cut mirchi, onion bhajji, Mumbai gini dosa, punugulu, chickoo shake, and mango lassi. Everything tasted delicious! The best part is the thali’s unlimited refills, which is a great deal. Their spacious outdoor seatingg is perfect for corporate lunches or large gatherings. Plus, the location is convenient—just 10 minutes from SFO airport. We’ll definitely be back to explore more items on the menu!
